It is said that one should generate a mind without anger towards those who come like hail. Once accustomed, there is no difficulty at all. For example, even very foolish porters, fishermen, and farmers, etc., because they are accustomed to suffering, for a long time have a hardened mind with a sign of wonder even for objects with very small fruits, and are not overcome by laziness. What need is there to mention the deeds that have the fruit of obtaining all the happiness of samsara, all the happiness of Bodhisattvas, and the unsurpassed state? For example, even ordinary people, because they have done something slightly harmful and consider it their own fault, in order to defeat those who kill themselves, even if they experience violent beatings, they still engage in battle. If one is harmed for a very long time, then the thief of hell will steal the small amount of wealth of virtue accumulated with difficulty, and become the executioner to be killed in the killing ground of hell, and become the guard of the prison of samsara. Although it seems to be in accordance with the path of certainly arising as the guard of the prison of existence, it is similar to following an unfavorable path, but actually it is violently harming oneself, just like becoming an enemy without harming. It is like a blood feud that has been tightly connected since beginningless eons. How can one not become accustomed to subduing the enemy of afflictions or enduring suffering? Having prepared to conquer the three realms, and having entered the battlefield in order to liberate beings seized by the lord of the demon's charnel ground, this is certainly a special transformation. Therefore, if one first becomes accustomed to small sufferings, then one will also be able to become accustomed to difficulties and extreme difficulties. For example, just as due to the power of habit, all sentient beings perceive suffering as happiness, similarly, by habituating oneself to perceiving all arising suffering as happiness, one will abide in the perception of happiness itself. The result corresponding to the cause of this (enduring suffering) is the attainment of the samadhi called "All Dharmas are Overcome by Bliss." In the Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son, it is said: "Bhagavan, there is a samadhi called 'All Dharmas are Overcome by Bliss.' Having attained that samadhi, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva will only experience the feeling of happiness for all objects of focus, and will not experience suffering.

nor does one experience feeling, nor is there suffering. Nor is there happiness, nor does one experience it. Even if harmed by the harm of hell beings, one abides in the perception of happiness. Even if harmed by the harm of humans, one abides in the perception of happiness. Whether one's hand is cut off, or one's foot is cut off, or one's hands and feet are cut off, or one's ear, or one's nose, or one's ear and nose are cut off, one will abide in the perception of happiness. Whether one is struck with a whip, or with a half-cut whip, or struck with a whip, one will abide in the perception of happiness. Whether one is put in prison, or put in iron shackles and wooden shackles, or the prison is sealed tightly, or bound like a child's topknot, or fumigated like a fumigation vessel, or beaten like sugarcane, or cut like reeds, or burned like a butter lamp, a butter lamp and burned like boiling yogurt, one will abide in the perception of happiness. Whether one is thrown into the fire, or thrown into the mouth of a lion, or thrown into the mouth of a tiger, similarly joined, or rolled up like something dry, or cut off like the punishment of a mouse, or proclaimed like the proclamation of a crime, or cut into the size of a Kārṣāpaṇa, or boiled like cooked rice flour, even if destroyed by elephants, one will abide in the perception of happiness. Whether one's eyes are gouged out, or placed on the tip of a bright wood, or led to the place of execution and in every way beheaded, one will abide in the perception of happiness, therefore neither happiness nor unhappiness, such thoughts will not arise in any way. What is the reason for this? Because, when the Bodhisattva, the great-hearted being, practices from a long time, he makes this aspiration: "May those who give me food attain the bliss of peace! May those who give me drink, and those who serve me, respect me, honor me, attend to me, and make offerings to me, may they all attain the bliss of peace! May all those who revile me, make me unhappy, beat me, stab me with weapons, and even kill me in every way, may they all attain the bliss of enlightenment and the unsurpassed
