O, you who lack virtue, we confess in a thousand ways the faults of those who have become vessels of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and those who have not become vessels of the hearers, and those who have not become vessels. Due to our karmic obscurations, we will experience intense and unbearable suffering in the three lower realms for many kalpas, and we wail like this. Combine it like that. We now confess the remaining karmic obscurations to the Bhagavat. We will also protect ourselves in the future. For the sake of compassion for us, please, Bhagavat, hold us in your mind. Please, Bhagavat, deliver us from the evil realms. Thus, it is widely said. Fourth fascicle. In the Sutra of Cutting Off the Obstacles to Ordination, it also speaks of harm: Great Name, if a householder possesses four qualities, in that and that life, it will be difficult to find leisure. He will become blind, stupid, tongueless, and a candala. He will never be happy. He will be much slandered. He will become a eunuch and a hermaphrodite, and will always become a slave and a woman. He will become a dog, a pig, a donkey, a mule, and a poisonous snake. What are the four? Great Name, in this case, a householder obstructs the mind of manifest arising, the mind of ordination, and the mind of the noble path of sentient beings who have been especially devoted to the Buddhas of the past. This is the first. Furthermore, being attached to wealth and attached to children, he does not believe in the ripening of karma. He obstructs the ordination of a son, daughter, wife, or group of relatives who are established in a position of wealth. This is the second. Thus it is said. The other two are abandoning the true Dharma and being angry with ascetics and Brahmins. The harm of the paths of the ten non-virtuous actions is to be regarded as the intense ripening spoken of in relation to the abiding in mindfulness of the true Dharma. From that, a little will be briefly stated. Briefly speaking of the ripening of killing, it is like this: the bird called "walking on flames" is one that, even though it dwells on the tip of a flame, is not burned. It is very happy and pierces the heads of sentient beings in hell and drinks blood. The bird called "walking on the shoulder of a skull" is one that pierces the brain and burns intensely, drinking the marrow. Of the tongue

The bird called "Meat Eater" tears out tongues and devours them openly. The tongue, once eaten, regrows, softer than a lotus petal. Thus, its name matches its nature. The birds called "Tooth Extractor," "Neck Drawer," "Dweller in the Lungs," "Stomach Eater," "Liver Reverser," "Eater of Intestinal Fat," "Delighter in Vertebrae," and "Secretive of Nature" are those who dissect all corpses, pierce holes in the corpses, enter the holes, and drink the marrow of the legs of those like smoke. The bird called "Needle Hole" drinks blood with a beak like a needle. Similarly, there are birds called "Dweller Between Bones," "Eater of Skin," "Scratcher with Claws," "Eater of Fat," "Remover of Tendons," and "Entangler of Hair," who pull out hair from the roots. Thus, on one side of that Avici hell, there is a bird called "Wing Terror," which becomes three hundred thousand leagues in size. Together with those birds and other hell-being birds, they eat those beings for hundreds of thousands of years, and then are reborn again. Even if they are liberated from that after a hundred destructions, they are surrounded by many sufferings. They go to the second place, a cliff called "Abyss of Precipices," seeking protection, refuge, and help. Surrounded by eleven piles of fire, bound by the ropes of karma, without friends, surrounded by enemies, they go to a desolate place. There, they find suffering far greater than all the previous hell-beings, and run towards a cliff called "Abyss of Falling." Having fallen, their feet melt completely. When they are lifted up, they are reborn very young and very soft, but are afflicted by intense and unbearable sensations. Thus, their faces become distorted by terror, and all their hands, feet, limbs, and minor limbs melt away. That place is therefore called the cliff of "Abyss." That place rises and falls, and from the top of the cliff to the bottom of the abyss is three hundred thousand leagues deep, and is blown by the wind made by karma. When they fall, they are eaten by vultures, crows, eagles, and owls. Thus, they are lifted up and fall for millions of years.
