And, committing the five inexpiable sins, holding wrong views, destroying towns, etc., the Victorious One said are root downfalls. To sentient beings who have not trained their minds, speaking of emptiness, and those who have entered the path to Buddhahood, causing them to regress from perfect enlightenment, completely abandoning individual liberation, and causing them to practice the Great Vehicle, Believing that attachment, etc., will not become a cause for abandonment by the path of learning, and also holding this belief, and causing others to hold and enter into it, and proclaiming one's own virtues, and for the sake of gain and respect, using verses as a reason, becoming a vessel for others, and saying, "I am profound patience," thus speaking falsely, and causing severance by severing virtue, and making offerings to the Three Jewels, and causing others to receive offerings, and causing them to abandon calm abiding, and the enjoyments of proper attention, etc., making offerings to those who recite, etc., these are root downfalls, the cause of sentient beings falling into the great hell. In dreams, in front of the noble Akashagarbha, sit and confess. Completely abandoning the mind of enlightenment, and with endless attachment and stinginess, not giving alms to beggars, and when diligently making joy, being unable to endure sentient beings, striking sentient beings with anger, and in accordance with afflictions and others, proclaiming what is disguised as Dharma. The Sutra of the Noble Earth Treasury also says: Great Brahma, for those who have renounced, who are immoral and commit evil, a Bhikshu who is like rotten wood inside, falsely claiming to be a Shramana when he is not a Shramana, falsely claiming to be practicing celibacy when he is not practicing celibacy, destroyed by various afflictions, even if he is a fallen failure, but the Bhikshu who is immoral and commits evil, at that time is also a teacher and a virtuous friend between all the gods and humans, and between the treasures of merit. Even if he is not a vessel, but by shaving his hair and beard, wearing saffron robes, and the conduct he shows, he can also show various roots of virtue to many sentient beings, and is a teacher who guides the way to the good realms. Therefore, whether one is moral or immoral, whoever has renounced for my sake

Even a Chakravartin king, if in accordance with the Dharma, would not inflict bodily punishments such as imprisonment, amputation, cutting off limbs, or killing. What need is there to mention actions that are not in accordance with the Dharma? If it is said that in the Dharma Vinaya, it is like death (to a monk), then that person is like excrement and pus." Furthermore, it is said: "Those who harm those who have renounced for my sake, whether they are vessels or not, all of them are extremely offensive to all the Buddhas who have gone to the three times. They cut off the roots of virtue, burn the lineage, and are bound for Avici." Furthermore, it is said: "For example, this maroon robe blessed by all the Buddhas is the victory banner of liberation." Furthermore, it is said that at that time, many hundreds of thousands of millions of Shravakas and Bodhisattvas confessed to the Bhagavan such karmic obscurations they had done in the past, saying: "Venerable Bhagavan, we have in the past disparaged those who have become or have not become vessels of the teachings of the past Tathagatas, and the individuals of the Hearer Vehicle of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. We have belittled, angered, spoken unpraiseworthy and unpleasant words. Because of these karmic obscurations, we experience many kinds of intense and unbearable feelings of suffering in the three lower realms. Likewise, we now confess the remainder of our karmic obscurations to the Bhagavan. Some said, 'We threatened the Bhagavan's Hearers with words and reviled them.' Some said, 'We struck and beat the Bhagavan's Hearers, whether they were vessels or not.' Some said, 'We robbed the Bhagavan's Hearers of their robes.' Some said, 'We robbed the Bhagavan's Hearers of their possessions and resources.' Some said, 'We caused those who had renounced for the sake of the Bhagavan to return to lay life and caused them to obtain an inappropriate status.' Some said, 'We...'
