That wise one will obtain all the dharanis. For hundreds of kalpas, whatever is heard will not be forgotten. He will be endowed with courage and free from attachment. The holder of the Holy Dharma of the Thus-Gone One. The wise one will always rejoice in him. Gods, demigods, and humans will be pleased. He will be praised like the only son of the Buddha. The holder of the Holy Dharma of the Thus-Gone One. Brahma and Indra will protect the world in the same way. He will become a wheel-turning monarch and a king of men. He will attain enlightenment with bliss and joy. The holder of the Holy Dharma of the Thus-Gone One. His body will be endowed with the thirty-two marks. The wise one's limbs will be without defect. Looking at him will never be satiated. The holder of the Holy Dharma of the Thus-Gone One. Whoever shows this seal of the Dharma. That virtuous friend will not be difficult to find. He will listen to the inexhaustible treasury of Dharma. The holder of the Holy Dharma of the Thus-Gone One. Body, speech, and mind will also be completely pure. Morality, concentration, and wisdom will be completely pure. Liberation and wisdom will be exceedingly pure. The holder of the Holy Dharma of the Thus-Gone One. He will never forget the mind of enlightenment. He will not transgress the practice of the perfections. He will also perfectly grasp all the hundreds of virtues. Thus it is said. From the chapter on the Perfection of Discipline, the second chapter on the Complete Retention of the Holy Dharma. The means of guarding the three, etc., have been generally explained, and guarding, etc., will be spoken of. What is the guarding of the body among them? It is abandoning what causes harm. The meaning of "among them" is that one who abides in holding the Holy Dharma should consider how to guard his body in such a way that he does not cause others to decline. Abandoning what causes harm is also said in the Holy Akasagarbha Sutra: Bodhisattvas who are diligent in holding the Holy Dharma. The Blessed Ones, the supreme two-legged ones, After the Blessed Ones have passed into nirvana, We will abandon our bodies and lives as well, And gladly hold the Holy Dharma. Having abandoned gain and respect, And having completely abandoned all reliance, This Dharma that reveals the Buddha's wisdom We will never abandon. For the sake of holding the Holy Dharma, Reproach, displeasure, and harm, And words of evil slander,

The earth also, with patience, accepts them. Having well held this principle, Reproach and intimidation, Non-praise and unpleasantness, All those I shall endure. Thus, apply it. The monk king is very angry, Thus, extremely unruly, When utterly destroyed, for the sake of sentient beings, We shall hold the sacred Dharma. Which Sutras are very profound, Possessing the fruit of liberation, We shall not hold them tightly, They make various talks. Thus, apply it. Having well held this principle, Towards those who do not abide in the Dharma, We shall be loving towards sentient beings. Towards them, we shall also have compassion. Seeing sentient beings attached to gain and desire, Having seen those whose morality is corrupt, "Where will their destination be?" We shall also shed many tears. Those who slander the sacred Dharma, Even if we see them immediately, We shall not scold them, We shall seek love from afar. Having well restrained the actions of speech, We shall protect them as much as we can with effort, Those who dwell greatly in sin, We shall not speak abruptly to them. With generosity and such respect, Having fully matured the people, For the sake of a truly sinless practice, We shall urge them on. Having abandoned all home and support, With few desires and few activities, In the practice of remote hermitages, We shall act like wild animals. Thus, apply it. Tamed and peaceful, Having been liberated and entered the city, Whatever sentient beings seek the Dharma, To them, we shall teach the Dharma. Having realized that the Dharma will depart, We shall go even to a very distant place. Having found joy and faith in the Dharma, We shall also work for the benefit of beings. Seeing the many delusions of sentient beings, Having seen them manifestly, Having firmly established faith in the Dharma, We shall thoroughly examine ourselves. Respectful or disrespectful, Having become like Mount Meru, Not being stained by the world, We shall become guides of the world. Those who have fallen from the monastic discipline, Even knowing their unpleasantness, We shall take the work as our own, May we not be disgusted by their actions. For those who abide in the Dharmas, Such Dharmas as these today, How could they exist or not? We shall also encourage executioners and others.
