One becomes aware of the earth. Dwelling in the power of the eight liberations, A Hearer transforms from one to many, And from many reverts to one again, Engaging in meditation in the sky and causing it to blaze. Fire blazes from below, and a stream of water from above, Fire blazes from above, and a stream of water from below, Walking, standing, lying down, and sitting, The bodily emanations are inconceivable in a single instant. If one who does not possess great compassion, Nor seeks enlightenment, abandoning the world, Can display countless bodily transformations, Why would one not display them for the benefit of the world? The sun and moon desire to move freely in the sky, And along the shores of water in all directions, Lakes, ponds, wells, vessels, and jewels, The ocean, rivers, and streams all display reflections. Likewise, forms that are inconceivable, A hero displays in all ten directions. Skilled in the ways of all samadhi and liberation, The Tathagata is the self-born witness to that. In a clear sea, there is an army of four divisions, Each of them sees their own reflection. Swords, great arrows, bows, and arrows, Armor, mounts, and vehicles are all seen. Whatever the form, wherever it dwells, whatever the attire, That and those are seen in the water as such. Yet, the water has no love, hatred, or conceptual thought, Such is the transformation of a sage's meditation. The ocean goddess named Soundful, Of all those born in the ocean of sentient beings, Is skilled in the ways of the melody of the hair's limbs, Satisfying all beings with her own voice. Soundful, who possesses attachment, Hatred, and delusion, is also skilled in the ways of sound of all voices, Those who have obtained power over dharani and the strength of Dharma, Why would they not please the world with its gods? The wife of a lute, Soundful Woman, Or the daughter of Brahma, who arises in the mind, Enters the gates of mind, intellect, and speech, Of those who are truthful, vowed, and joyful in life, Soundful Woman, who possesses attachment and hatred, With the limbs of sound that are in accordance with asceticism and accomplishment, Pleases the world with a pleasing voice, Why would those rich in wisdom and qualities not do so? The master of illusion, skilled in the ways of mantra and knowledge, Displays various, numerous, and limitless forms, Days, nights, moments, months, and hundreds of years, A prosperous and beautiful home.

Manifestations. If those with desire and hatred, the masters of illusion, delight the world with their illusory transformations, why would those who have well-trained in meditation, clairvoyance, and liberation, those skilled in virtuous conduct, not delight? When gods and demigods fight, the victorious gods defeat the demigods. Fearing this, they flee with umbrellas, mounts, weapons, armies, and armor. If those gods, kings of desire and hatred, manifest countless transformations of their bodies, why would the powerful, masters of magical power and dominion, not manifest transformations of their bodies? The elephant guardian of Vajradhara, a great magician who is the retinue of the lord, manifests thirty-three heads. Each head has six tusks, and on each tusk, he manifests seven ponds filled with water. In each pond, he manifests seven different kinds of lotuses. On each lotus, he manifests seven goddesses who know all arts. They are skilled in play, song, and dance, and they play with the lord of the thirty-three. That elephant also transforms his body and enjoys happiness with all the gods. Their conduct and enjoyment are all in harmony. The transformations of the supreme elephant appear in this way. If an elephant, full of desire, hatred, and ignorance, can also manifest such magical powers, why would those who have trained in power through wisdom and skillful means not perform a hundred kinds of samadhi transformations? Rahu transforms his body as he wishes, placing his feet on the vajra ground, and appears to reach only to the center of the ocean. The peak of Mount Meru and his own head are equal. If Rahu, full of desire, hatred, and ignorance, can manifest all such magical powers, why would the countless lamps of the world, the Buddhas, not manifest infinite magical powers? Look at the countless transformations of Indra. When gods and demigods fight, as many demigods as flee, that many Indras he manifests from his own body. The demigod king and all the ordinary demigods know that Indra is present before each of them. This is because he is held by Vajradhara, so say all the demigod kings.
