None, these are not with afflictions. Why is that? Like this, they are reflections on the definitive meaning, for afflictions, there is no collection, no becoming aggregates, no entity of desire, no entity of hatred, no entity of ignorance, in order to realize these afflictions, it is for enlightenment. Whatever is the nature of afflictions, the nature of enlightenment is also that, thus abiding in mindfulness, it is said. The noble "Jewel in the Crown" also says: Son of the lineage, here the Bodhisattva abides in the mindfulness of observing the Dharma according to the Dharma in all Dharmas, thinking thus: At birth, only Dharmas are born; at death, only Dharmas cease. In this, there is no self, or sentient being, or life, or one who is born, or one who nourishes, or a person, or an individual, or born from power, or a son of power, or who is born, or old age, or death, or migration, or will be born, nothing at all. This is the Dharma nature of all Dharmas. If practiced, it is accomplished. If not practiced, it is not accomplished, whether it is good, or not good, or unmoving, how it is practiced, so it is accomplished, but for all Dharmas, there is no practitioner, and all Dharmas do not arise without a cause. Thinking thus, etc., it is said. Again, in that same sutra, it is said: Even if one slightly distinguishes and contemplates the profound Dharma, one does not abandon the remembrance of the Bodhicitta of the omniscient wisdom, it is said. The noble "Extensive Play Sutra" also says: Actions are impermanent and not stable, Like the nature of destruction like not letting go of pottery, Like making a false object of another's thing, Like a sand city, it cannot last long. These actions are the Dharma of destruction, Like stopping the summer water flow, Like sand on the water's edge, Dependent on conditions, the nature is weak. Actions are like the light of a lamp going, It arises quickly and is the Dharma of extinction. Like the wind, it does not stay long, Like a bubble, it is weak and without essence. Actions are unmoving and empty, If observed, it is like a cluster of water trees. Like an illusion, it confuses the mind, Holding hands empty

I am like enticing a child. All conditioned things arise from causes and conditions, They arise from the combination of various conditions. One cause gives rise to one effect, arising in mutual dependence. Children do not understand this principle. For example, like a creeper clinging to a munja grass, It becomes a rope through the strength of weaving, Also, a bucket, rope, spokes, and wheel, None of these can be accomplished individually. Likewise, the accomplishment of all the limbs of existence, Depends on the assembly of others. If one wishes to accomplish any one thing alone, Then one cannot find its beginning or end. Like a sprout arising from a seed, But the seed is not the sprout itself. Neither different nor the same, this is the nature of phenomena. Ignorance is the cause of action, But action is also not truly existent. Ignorance and action, Their nature is empty, unmoving. Although the swelling of the cause from the cause appears, Yet the cause has moved, it cannot be seen. It does not arise from this, nor does it arise from another, Thus, conditioned things are impermanent and not annihilated. Having relied on the eye and form, Eye consciousness arises here, But the eye does not depend on form, Nor does form move from the eye. These are all selfless, impure phenomena. If one considers them as self and pure, It is a reversed delusion, not real. But from this, eye consciousness arises. Consciousness ceases and arises again, The wise see the aspect of arising and ceasing. It has not gone anywhere, nor has it come from anywhere. The yogi sees all phenomena as illusory and empty. For example, rubbing sticks and a rubbing board, Plus the action of the hand, the three come together, Depending on this, fire arises, But after arising, it will soon cease. After the wise have contemplated, From where did this fire come, and where did it go? If one searches in all directions, Then one cannot see its coming or going. The causes of the aggregates, sense bases, and elements, Are ignorance, desire, and karma. These combined are called sentient beings, But in the ultimate truth, they cannot be found. Thus, and so on, it has been said. From the Compendium of Trainings, "Mindfulness"
