That which is called "arising in between" means not to focus on the phenomena that are arising now. It is also stated in the Holy Sutra of the Ten Bhumis: "There, ignorance, craving, and grasping are the uninterrupted flow of the path of affliction; actions and existence are the uninterrupted flow of the path of karma; the remaining branches are thoroughly distinguished as the uninterrupted flow of the path of suffering." Similarly, combining them, "conditioned by ignorance, there are actions," etc., this is observing the past; from consciousness to feeling, this is observing the phenomena that are arising now; from craving to existence, this is observing the future, and after that, those will also arise. Similarly, combining them, he thinks like this: "From having, actions arise; from not having, actions do not arise; from aggregation, actions arise; from non-aggregation, actions do not arise." Alas! I have understood that actions have so many faults and defects, and I should cut off the stream of these aggregates; in order to fully ripen sentient beings, I should never attain the pacification of actions." Thus it is said. This is a brief cultivation of delusion. From the Compendium of Trainings, the twelfth chapter, the chapter on cultivating the mind. Having thus made the mind workable, one enters into mindfulness, and there, from the aspect of impurity, the mindfulness of the body has already been explained. Regarding a slight classification of it, it is said in the Sutra of the Collection of the True Dharma: "Son of good family, furthermore, the Bodhisattva observes this body in this way: that is, the feet, toes, shins, thighs, waist, abdomen, navel, spine, heart, ribs, shoulder blades, hands, forearms, elbows, palms, neck, cheeks, forehead, head, skull, etc., are merely an aggregation, accumulated by the agent born of karma, a place of hundreds and thousands of different discriminations and pervasive thoughts, afflictions and near afflictions. Here, many elements of realms are gathered, such as hair, beard, nails, teeth, bones, and
