was bestowed. Thus, one who is skilled in faults, because of being free from all elaborations, practices emptiness as yoga. Because he cultivates emptiness extensively, in whatever place the mind wanders and in whatever place the mind rejoices, if he completely seeks the nature of those places, he realizes emptiness. If he examines what the mind is, he also realizes emptiness. If he seeks the nature of what the mind cognizes, he also realizes emptiness. Because he realizes it in this way, it is said that he enters into signless yoga. Therefore, objects such as objects and subjects are empty of their own nature, like water in a mirage. The thought that they arise in dependence on this and that is conventional truth. Therefore, in the "Lankavatara Sutra," it is said: "The arising of things is conventional truth; in the ultimate sense, there is no self-nature." Also, in the "Extensive Play Sutra," it is said: "The son of the Shakyas, having seen the Dharma of dependent origination, without self-nature or essence, is fully endowed with a mind like the sky, and is not shaken by seeing the deceitful ones with their armies." Also, in the "Ratnamegha Sutra," it is said: "What is born from conditions is not born of its own nature; the Dharmakaya is the body of the Victorious Ones; the supreme nature always abides like the sky; if taught, the combination of all dharmas will be attained." Also, in the "Entering the Realm of All Buddhas, Ornament of the Light of Wisdom Sutra," it is said: "Obtaining the nature of all dharmas, one does not elaborate even slightly. Why is that? Because it is produced by causes and conditions. Whatever is produced by causes and conditions is utterly unborn." The venerable Nagarjuna also said: "Whatever arises dependently, by nature it is unborn; whatever is unborn by nature, how can it be said to be born? Even for the most subtle object, if one discriminates how it is born, that unskilled one has not seen the meaning of what arises from conditions." The meaning is that in the ultimate sense, there is no self-nature, but in conventional truth, dependent origination is merely an illusion. In the "Lankavatara Sutra" it is also said: "All things

Birth is in the conventional. In the ultimate, there is no self-nature. Where is the confusion in the absence of self-nature? This is considered the true conventional. It is said that it is intended that there is no self-nature in the ultimate. Therefore, things cannot be born from themselves, others, both, or without cause in the ultimate. How can they not be born from themselves and others? That is, they are not born from themselves. If things are born from themselves, are they born from what has already been born, or from what has not been born? If it is said that what has already been born is born, then it cannot be born because it has already been established. In one way, if what is born is born, then it will never not be born, and it will become endless. If what is not born is born, then the horns of rabbits, the sons of barren women, and the flowers of the sky will also be born, so they are not born from themselves. It is also impossible to be born from others, because everything can be born from everything. It is also impossible to be born from both self and other, because it will include the two faults mentioned above. It is also impossible to be born without cause, because if it does not depend on anything, it will always arise. If it arises at all times, then it does not depend on cause, so it is not a conditioned phenomenon, but becomes the fault of permanence. All efforts to achieve the goal become the fault of meaninglessness. In this way, the birth of all things is unreasonable, so birth is impossible. The so-called birth is only a designation of terms. In the ultimate sense, if there is no Buddha and Nirvana, then what need is there to talk about others? One should think like this. In the Holy Perfection of Wisdom Sutra, Subhuti said: The Buddha is also like a dream and an illusion. Nirvana is also like a dream and an illusion. If there is a dharma that is superior to Nirvana, it is also like a dream and an illusion. Therefore, one should meditate that all conditioned and unconditioned dharmas are truly non-existent. In this way, all the dharmas that are distinguished enter into emptiness. Because there is nothing else to distinguish, the mind that is united with non-discrimination, non-thinking, and unspeakable, merges into its own nature, without any fabrication.
