Therefore, clinging to bad defilements, Samadhi is accomplished through distraction. Even if accomplished, it will deteriorate, so I said that resources should be reduced. One should meditate on non-attachment to enjoyment in this way. In short, non-attachment to body and enjoyment will accomplish Shamatha and Vipassana, and this should be understood. Among them, diligence is reverence. The fruit will not be exhausted in the end, so it is long-lasting. Not giving an opportunity, so it is uninterrupted. Among them, non-attachment is the condition for accomplishing Samadhi. Reverence and so on are the conditions for abiding. Uninterruptedness is the condition for increasing, in short, it should be understood that all the conditions for Samadhi that have been explained are gathered here. The explanation of the Compendium of Sutras, fully combined with the authority of the scriptures, the fifth chapter on the conditions for Samadhi is completed. Thus, abiding in the conditions for Samadhi, one should focus on the object of focus. Regarding the vast means of the noble Asanga for focusing on the object of focus, it is explained in detail in the Yogacarabhumi and so on, so it will not be elaborated too much here. It should be understood as the noble Nagarjuna said. Here, the content spoken by those noble ones will be briefly stated. First of all, the object of focus is called person and dharma. Among them, person refers to clinging to wholeness, permanence, happiness, self, and purity. Dharma refers to the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, and so on. For these, how to meditate on the absence from clinging to wholeness to the self of dharma, thereby obtaining clarity, certainty, non-discrimination, capability, and one-pointedness, this is the aspect of attainment, the path of Shamatha. The vast aspect, only the noble Maitreya and the noble Asanga have clearly explained. The faults of Shamatha and so on should also be understood in the same way. The effort of abandoning should also be understood in the same way. Thus, if someone asks: How to completely grasp the mind, and what object to meditate on? In response, the "Discourse on Joining the Paramitas" and so on have been explained, for conduct, there are the six paramitas, and the four mindfulnesses and so on, which are gathered by Shamatha and Vipassana, because it is appropriate attention. These are also the places of the path.

Since everything is everything in all places at all times, it is said to be both "transcendence" and "aspects of enlightenment." From the commentary on the Compendium of Sutras, measured by scriptural authority, the transcendence of meditation has been explained. Thus, after generating the accumulation of merit such as the mind of enlightenment, in order to transform these into the accumulation of wisdom, the nature of the Perfection of Wisdom is needed. What is briefly indicated by these non-existent natures is: saying "son of the gods," etc. The noble Asanga said: Wisdom is understanding the ultimate truth. The noble Nagarjuna also said: Wisdom is knowing the profound. The explanation of this is that, since it is not conditioned, it is said to be birth, etc. Because it is said: Conditioned phenomena are birth, aging, abiding, and impermanence. Because it is free from antidotes and discordant phenomena, it is said to be guiding and eliminating. Because it is free from the characteristics of abandoning and taking, it is said to be affliction and purification. From the perspective of faults and benefits, it is said to be neither aversion nor joy. From the perspective of suffering and its origin, it is said to be for knowing and abandoning. From the perspective of cessation and the path, it is said to be for realization and cultivation. From the perspective of realization, it is said to be attainment and realization, attainment is having obtained, realization is understanding. Among them, attainment refers to this on the first ground. Realization refers to the remaining nine grounds, that is, during meditative equipoise, it is not focused on the nature of reality. Among them, because it is focused on the nature of reality, it is pure. Because it causes the attainment of the fruit, the Dharma body, it has essence. In order to explain it in detail, it is said that all phenomena are without mind, etc. In order to show the nature of attaining the ultimate truth of nirvana, it is said that what was previously shown is without objectification by other terms, etc. Dharma is the characteristic of being measurable, such as form, etc. Because its nature is emptiness, it is without objectification. Because it is free from mind, etc., it is without mind. What is that?
