One should generate faith-based confidence in deities, as mentioned below, such as "born from a hundred." Therefore, you should generate desire for such a body and strive to obtain it. All non-virtues should be abandoned. The suffering of the five aggregates of samsara should be understood. The Noble Eightfold Path should be cultivated. Nirvana should be attained. After teaching this, cultivating these in the same way, Having unwavering faith is called the root of faith being firm. Therefore, first relying on a virtuous friend means that the faithful are those ascetics and Brahmins, etc. Going completely to them means obtaining the fruit, the cause of which is extensive learning. Diligence in listening is the virtuous friend who receives the teachings. Proper attention is the virtuous friend who practices. These are the teachings on virtuous friends for ordinary people. The noble person is one who has transcended doubt and exhausted rebirth. The unsurpassed virtuous friend is the perfect Buddha. Who are those people? It is said to be Bodhisattvas and the Shravakas of the Buddha. The three, such as faith, are taught as the beginning, middle, and end. These are the means of cultivating initial faith. Teaching karma and its ripening, this is teaching the means of cultivating reliance. From "recognizing as a vessel," etc., is the means of cultivating the faith of desire, wanting to attain Nirvana, one should cultivate the union of the two truths, namely emptiness, etc. Among them, teaching the ultimate truth is emptiness, etc. However, only these conditions exist, so it is the talk of dependent origination. Emptiness, etc., has already been explained. Because cause and effect are not established in the nature of phenomena, it is unborn and unarisen. Because it is completely imputed, there is no self, etc., because of pride, it is self. Because of cowardice, it is sentient being. For the sake of living, it is life. Because of arising and destruction, it is a person. Because the result arises from the assembly of causes and conditions, it is dependent origination. Practicing as heard, one enters without attachment.

Etc. were spoken. Attachment is clinging to things. The aggregates, etc., are mentioned because they are places of particular attachment. Because of being piled up, they are aggregates. Because it is the meaning of kind, it is a realm. Because it is the door of birth, it is a source. Those are also called naturally abandoning the place of cessation, because their nature is emptiness. Then, is there nothing to be attained? It is said to seek the wisdom of the Buddha. Meditating on emptiness is the most supreme of meditators, so it will be possible to attain the cessation of suffering. Meditating without meditating, wanting the supreme meditation, for those who have no view of attainment, it is also considered a supreme attainment. It is like explaining it this way. That emptiness is also taught by completely grasping it with skillful means, which means to focus on mindfulness. That itself is explained as guarding the sense gates, etc. Therefore, it is also said below that wisdom separated from skillful means is a bondage. Now, in order to show the benefits of faith from the perspective of many sutras, the chapter of the Essence of the Moon, etc., is also spoken. The benefit of faith is said to be like illustrating with a wish-fulfilling jewel. It is for the purpose of attaining the qualities mentioned earlier. Generally showing the benefits of faith and desire is called the power of aspiration. Aspiration is definitely grasping. What is aspiration for? With faith, one enters into the ripening of karma. With desire, one does not abandon the mind of enlightenment, etc. The mind of enlightenment is endowed with aspiration. Relying on the chosen deity is the discipline of entering. How does one rely on the chosen deity? With the discipline of vows, one abandons all non-virtuous dharmas. Doing the benefit of sentient beings is forgiving all transgressions. The word "endowed" should be applied to all. "Will be attained" is a superfluous word. Some say that having faith as mentioned earlier is rare, and the metaphor for rarity is like a precious jewel. Explaining the characteristics of faith in other ways is the power of aspiration, etc. Aspiration is the Great Vehicle. Entering is meditating on faith. Not abandoning is not giving up. Relying is not changing. Abandoning
