Furthermore, in the Skillful Means Prajna Paramita, the Blessed One said to Subhuti, "Subhuti, Nirvana is the emptiness of inherent existence." Also, in the Lotus Sutra, the Blessed One said to Kashyapa, "Kashyapa, realizing the equality of all dharmas is Nirvana." Also, in the same sutra, it says, "Son of good family, that which the Tathagata has done, is what the Tathagata does, and for a long time, having manifestly attained enlightenment, with a life span immeasurable, the Tathagata always abides and does not pass into Nirvana, but shows passing into Nirvana through the means of taming. Why? Because I ripen sentient beings through various means." In the Great Compassion Sutra, it says, "Brahma, thus this world is exhausted, afflictions are exhausted, suffering is exhausted, and pacified by the cessation of suffering, it is tranquil and pure. This tranquility is called Nirvana. Brahma, that which is karma is exhausted, and that which is affliction is separated and extinguished, other than that, there is no Nirvana." In the Chapter on Transcendence of the World, it says, "The manifestation of the Nirvana of the Buddhas is boundless." In the Holy Brahma's Question Sutra, it says, "Blessed One, what is called Nirvana? It is that all signs are completely pacified, and it is free from all movement." It also says, "Brahma, what is called Nirvana is the absence of mutual causal imputation." In the Samyukta Agama Sutra, it says, "Monks, I will explain to you Nirvana and the path leading to Nirvana. What is Nirvana? It is the exhaustion of desire, the exhaustion of hatred, and the exhaustion of delusion. What is the path leading to Nirvana? It is this Noble Eightfold Path." In the Sutra of the Blessed One's Vast Wisdom, it says, "Maudgalyayana's son had previously appeared, the Tathagata was called Praised, and his assembly of Shravakas also appeared. At that time, in the Buddha-field."

At that time, there was a monk named "Equal Vision of All Realms" who had truly entered the Mahayana. He had planted roots of virtue with countless billions of hundreds of thousands of incalculable Buddhas. However, he had never generated the mind of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, but had truly entered the unsurpassed Mahayana, desiring to purify the unspeakable of the unspeakable Buddha-fields. At that time, in that Buddha-field, no other sentient being except that one monk had generated the mind for enlightenment. Because he was proficient in all profound Dharma, he was born among the long-lived gods. Then, the Tathagata's name was proclaimed, performing the deeds of the Buddha, observing which great bodhisattva had not performed the deeds of the Buddha, observing in all Buddha-fields. When he saw that the only sentient being who had entered the Mahayana had become a vessel for enlightenment, even though he had obtained leisure, he had no opportunity to plant the roots of virtue for enlightenment with that very body. Then, he died and fell into the great hell of the Uninterrupted. From then on, he had no opportunity to plant the roots of virtue for enlightenment again. After he died from the Uninterrupted Hell, even if he was reborn among humans, he saw that he was foolish like a sheep, deaf and mute, only able to express himself with gestures, and had no ability to understand the Dharma. Therefore, the Tathagata manifested, making that sentient being completely mature. When the manifestation made him completely mature, the Tathagata endured suffering for sixty billion hundreds of thousands of kalpas. Son of Maudgalyayana, look at the great compassion of the Tathagata! For the sake of one sentient being, he must endure suffering for countless kalpas, making that person completely mature, and placing him on the path of non-retrogression. Son of Maudgalyayana, what do you think? Do you think that the Tathagata named "Proclamation of Fame" at that time was another person? Do not think so. Why? Because that Tathagata who sees all things, at that time was "Proclamation of Fame." Son of Maudgalyayana, what do you think? At that time

If one thinks that what is called "monk viewing all things equally" is something different, one should not think that way. Why is that? Because at the time of the Tathagata Amitabha, it was said, "Monk viewing all things equally." Also, in the Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son, it is said: Monks, in the past, in a time that has passed, there were immeasurable kalpas, countless kalpas, inconceivable kalpas, unequaled kalpas, unmeasurable kalpas, unspeakable kalpas. In that past time, at that time, a Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha named "Lordly Crest" appeared in the world. The Buddha-field of the Tathagata Lordly Crest also became one Buddha-field from as many worlds as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River. The sentient beings dwelling in that Buddha-field also obtained five kinds of happiness. What are these? Some beings are endowed with the happiness of desire. Some are endowed with the happiness of renunciation. Some are endowed with the happiness of meditative absorption. Some are endowed with the happiness of attainment. Some are endowed with the happiness of unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. They also enjoy those happinesses, but they have no attachment to them. For example, a bee lives near the nectar of a flower, but it has no attachment to it. Similarly, those sentient beings also enjoy that happiness, but they have no attachment to it. For example, a bird that flies in the sky flies in the sky, but it has no attachment to it. Similarly, those sentient beings also enjoy that happiness, but they have no attachment to it. Manjushri asked: At that time, at that time, was the one called the Tathagata Lordly Crest, the Blessed One himself at that time, at that time, called the Tathagata Lordly Crest? The Buddha said: Yes. Also in the Lankavatara Sutra it is said: Actions and characteristics, things, I do not pass away into sorrow, by reversing from discrimination and consciousness, I pass away into sorrow. Thus it is said. Those sentient beings who are devoted to the One Vehicle are
