Asked by Mo Lodrö Zangmo: Filling with pollen to drive away insects, abandoning harmful thoughts and shaping the body, if one dwells in vast aspiration, one will be born miraculously before the Buddhas. Thus it is said. Also in the same place it says: In order to realize the Dharma in all dharmas, abide in diligence and remember the Buddha, completely dedicate, confess, and prostrate, then the demons will not find an opportunity. Thus it is said. Asked by Gangpo: If a Bodhisattva possesses four qualities, he will not turn away from the mind of enlightenment, and will not lose his roots of virtue. What are the four? A Bodhisattva possesses morality, his mindfulness is deep and far-reaching, he strives with a diligent mind, and is adorned with vast learning and wisdom. If a Bodhisattva always relies on these four dharmas, all the things he thinks of in his mind will be completely accomplished. Thus it is said. Again, in the same place it says: Gangpo, Bodhisattvas diligently make offerings to stupas with earnest effort, and with reverence they make offerings with various items such as flowers, garlands, scented oils, incense, pollen, and musical instruments like cymbals, from "If one makes offerings to the Buddhas who dwell in the past and present, one will receive offerings in every lifetime, and will always be born in a place without leisure," and so on. From "The Steadfast Armor-Clad" it says: Bodhisattvas, for the sake of each and every action of each and every sentient being, wander in samsara as long as samsara lasts, and completely seek the medicine of wisdom, without abandoning their armor, making it extremely firm, and wearing armor from the great armor to the armor without interruption. Thus it is said. In the same place it also says: In order to fully know all wisdom and to completely gather all sentient beings, one should cultivate the perfection of generosity, the perfection of morality, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, and the perfection of meditation. Everything should be preceded by wisdom, manifested and accomplished by wisdom, and completely gathered by wisdom, thereby attaining the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment.

Thus it is said. In the teachings of the three vows, it is said: Supreme Bodhi is achieved through diligence. If it were not so, even rabbits and cats would attain Bodhi. Those who delight in meditation, relying on the secluded places near meditation, it is also the same content: You should not have a dwelling, do not have close acquaintances, do not gather cattle and donkeys. You should not take up a place of laziness. Abandon non-virtuous dharmas and strive diligently in virtuous dharmas. Kashyapa Buddha, in many ways, abides in virtue and praises abandoning clamor. From those who spend day and night indulging in clamor, the constant talk of the king's food and drink, talk of family, detestable matters, and going to places where food is given, to the talk of various medicines and alcohol, to the point of losing consciousness, the body drooling and falling asleep. From the mind not being equally settled, the senses becoming coarse and vulgar, with the conduct of a distracted mind, from home, completely abandoning the Pratimoksha vows, to looking at each other, saying if something is given, how much can be used. Kashyapa Buddha, until the time of death, those who do not strive in yoga are these. Abandoning all their dharmas, Kashyapa Buddha, one should have compassion for those monks. What is the reason for this? Because the ripening will become suffering. In the teachings of the qualities of the Buddha-field of Manjushri, it is said: Shariputra, earnestly dwelling in solitude, one fully obtains ten benefits. What are the ten? Completely abandoning clamor, relying on extremely solitary places, the mind can focus on meditation, it will not become many affairs, desiring the Buddhas, his body's happiness will not be separated, his Brahmacharya will not be obstructed, Samadhi is easily attained, the words and letters taught will not be wasted, and the meaning of the dharmas as heard will be thoroughly understood. Shariputra, a Bodhisattva dwelling in solitude fully obtains these ten benefits. Thus it is said. Arya Dhritarashtra (Bodhisattva)
