They are able to destroy. The Shravakas are like riding a donkey, while the Bodhisattvas are like riding an elephant. For the benefit and happiness of all sentient beings, they can also destroy demons under the tree king. Even if a hundred foxes cry out together, the herds of animals will not be disturbed. But the lion's roar can scatter elephants, wild animals, and winged creatures in all directions. Similarly, the Shravakas are like foxes, while the actions of the king Bodhisattva cause fear in demons and their retinues. Thus it is said. In the Sutra Requested by Crown Prince, it says: Son of good family, for example, if one has to travel a hundred thousand yojanas to reach an undesirable city, and one goes with one's only beloved son, upon arriving at the desirable city, one foot is placed on the threshold of the city, and the other foot remains outside. Then, if one remembers that only son, one thinks, 'Where is my only son?' Thinking of bringing him here, one turns back and returns to where the only son is. Similarly, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva can also manifest the wisdom of the exhaustion of defilements through meditation and clairvoyance. But having generated great compassion, he turns to look at his mind, and then returns, arising universally in the realm of ordinary beings. Thus it is said. In the Sutra of the Collection of the True Dharma, it says: The Bodhisattva, who has the nature of emptiness, does not abide in samsara. The Bodhisattva, who has the nature of compassion, does not abide in nirvana. Thus it is said. In the Nirvana Sutra, it says: Son of good family, great love and great compassion are called the Buddha-nature. Why is that? Because great love and great compassion always accompany the Bodhisattva like a shadow. Thus it is said. Again, in the same text, it says: Bhagavan, there are three objects of focus for love: focusing on sentient beings, focusing on the Dharma, and non-focusing. Among these, focusing on sentient beings means focusing on the five aggregates and desiring happiness, which is called focusing on sentient beings. Focusing on the Dharma means focusing on sentient beings and giving them what they need, which is called focusing on sentient beings.

I pray to act thus. Non-objectification is objectification of the Tathagata, hence it is called non-objectification. Whoever, towards even a single sentient being, does not generate a mind of hatred, and wishes them happiness, that is called extreme love. If there were righteous sages with five kinds of clairvoyance filling the great earth, and a powerful king who bestowed all happiness, such as horses, cattle, and various riches, the merit they would obtain would not even equal one-sixteenth of the merit obtained from cultivating love. Son of good family, the cultivation of love is not false, but truly and genuinely true. From the samadhi that gathers all merits, son of the desireless one, just as there is nothing in the aspect of form that is not pervaded by the element of space, similarly, the love of a Bodhisattva pervades all the worlds of the ten directions, and all the Buddha-fields without exception. Even if the sentient beings of those worlds were endowed with the merit of a universal monarch, or possessed a mass of merit like Indra and Brahma, the accumulation of merit from the seventh step of a Bodhisattva who has entered into a superior intention, striving without deceit to completely liberate sentient beings, entering into great compassion, and abiding in great love, is far greater than that of a universal monarch or Brahma, it is not like that. Thus it is said. Also in the Jewel Cloud Sutra: Possessing ten qualities, a Bodhisattva is the nature of love. Possessing love without limitation. Possessing equal love. Possessing love that pervades all ten directions. Up to possessing love that transcends the world. Possessing ten qualities, one is the nature of great compassion. For example, seeing those who are suffering, without refuge, without protection, without support, and without friends, one generates the mind of enlightenment. Having generated the mind, in order to attain the nature of reality, one strives with effort and diligence, and performs hundreds of austerities. Possessing ten qualities, one abides in joy. For example, I (Sanskrit, ātman, Atman, self) Samsara
