Etc. Also, from the Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra: Even if a Bodhisattva is greatly offended by others, they should not argue with them, nor should they harm or disturb their minds. Even if they are to be killed, they should not harbor hatred towards them. They should not harbor hatred towards any sentient beings. One should generate steadfast faith in Bodhisattvas. Thus it is said. It is also said that Bodhisattvas should regard all sentient beings as parents, children, sons, and daughters. Just as one desires happiness for oneself, one should also lead other sentient beings to happiness. One should liberate all sentient beings from suffering. One should not abandon any sentient beings. Even if their master were to cut their body into a hundred pieces, one should not generate a mind of harming them, but should generate love and compassion. Thus it is said. The venerable Arya Deva also said: When severe harm occurs, one should know it is due to past karma. Thus it is said. If it is not so, even if others confess, one should not listen, but angrily attack others, abandon striking others with sticks, one should abandon anger, retaliate with harsh words, etc., which will lead to downfall and offenses. One should not abandon sentient beings who are truly suffering, that is, when seeing those who are suffering from heat and cold, hunger and thirst, etc., as well as those who have committed the five inexpiable sins, etc., those whose precepts are broken, and those who are tormented by various sufferings, one should not abandon them with a compassionate heart. The venerable Arya Deva said: A wheel of iron twelve yojanas in circumference, revolving on the head, as soon as the Bodhicitta is generated, it will disappear, I have heard. Thus it is said. The teacher Hero also said: Just as a mother has special compassion for a sick son, Bodhisattvas have special love for those who are not virtuous. Thus it is said. The teacher Bhava also said: When seeing those who are suffering from severe pain, compassion arises from the depths of the bones, and one benefits them. Thus it is said. For details, one should consult the Sutra Pitaka. One should not abandon with a loving heart sentient beings who are the cause of suffering, etc., that is, those whose precepts are broken, those who commit the five inexpiable sins, and those who kill.

And, one should refrain from all kinds of sinful actions. As it is said in the Holy Mindfulness Sutra: "Whoever accepts good discipline, but does not protect it well, that person will surely be like flesh and bones, burned by the fire of destruction." Also, as it is said in the Holy Gain and Desire Sutra: "Seeing a person who has broken their vows dwelling in gain and desire, one should think, 'Where will this person go?' and shed tears." The teacher Nagarjuna also said: "Whatever beings in the world, constantly desire to do evil, may all of them be prevented without harm." In general, not abandoning sentient beings is not abandoning them with a mind of loving-kindness. As it is said in the Holy Courageous Wisdom Sutra: "Bodhisattvas should regard all sentient beings as their children, and should regard them as their own bodies." It is also said in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Just as a pigeon cherishes its beloved young, and embraces its young in its bosom, so too is the Bodhisattva, with love for suffering sentient beings." It is also said in the Great Tantra of the Holy Supreme Knowledge: "Bodhisattvas do not cling to their own happiness, nor do they tire of their own suffering, but they suffer from the suffering of others, and the happiness of others is the joy of the Bodhisattva." It is also said in the Glorious Vajra Dakini Tantra and the Glorious Supreme First Tantra: "As long as the realm of samsara is not empty, the wise remain in samsara, at that time they can benefit unequaled sentient beings, without entering nirvana." For details, refer to the sutras. The eight thoughts of a holy person are: Alas! When will I be able to free sentient beings from the suffering of birth? Likewise, when will I be able to free them from the suffering of old age, the suffering of sickness, and the suffering of death? When will I be able to liberate those sentient beings who have not been liberated? When will I be able to lead those who have not been freed, those who have not taken their last breath, and those who have not completely passed into nirvana, to liberation and nirvana? One should continuously remember each and every thought. The inner means.
