The Opening of the Precious Casket of Madhyamaka Instructions, by Marmé Tségyé Yeshe. The Opening of the Precious Casket of Madhyamaka Instructions. By Marmé Tségyé Yeshe. In Indian language: Ratnakaraṇḍa Unghaṭe Madhyama Nāma Upadeśa. In Tibetan: Called "The Opening of the Precious Casket of Madhyamaka Instructions." Homage to the Venerable Manjushri Vajra! Homage to the Three Jewels! I shall write down the instructions of the lineage of Master Nagarjuna. This is for any individual who, remembering the suffering of himself and all beings in beginningless samsara, does not even cling to something as small as a sesame seed, abandons all worldly things and activities like ashes of spittle, whose three vows of morality, initially undertaken, are undiminished and pure, who possesses the wisdom of hearing and contemplation, who naturally has compassion, and who does not even consider body and life for the sake of the sacred Dharma. That person should seek a noble individual who possesses the instructions of the lineage of Master Arya Nagarjuna. At that time, having pleased him for a long time, since he is a beginner, he should dwell in a place where it is easy to make a living, such as a large settlement, a large city, a monastery, or a remote area. In front of the image of the Three Jewels, he should sit on a soft and comfortable cushion. In this way, he should carefully observe the sentient beings of the five classes: those born from eggs, those born from moisture and heat, those born miraculously, those with form, those without form, those with consciousness, and those without consciousness. All of them are not my mothers, but these mothers have committed and accumulated sins for my sake, and therefore, through their ripening, they are now experiencing much suffering. The Noble Nagarjuna said: "Through the fault of the habits of conceptual thoughts, the three realms of beings are all deluded. The wise should look carefully and liberate them from the place of samsara." Thus he said. Again, the Noble Nagarjuna said: "All sentient beings who dwell in the prison of existence, who are tormented by the fire of afflictions, were formerly the root of victorious friends. Since they have become friends and have been of great benefit, I have caused them suffering. Now it is appropriate to make them happy." Thus he said, out of kindness.

With wisdom, I shall liberate, release, soothe, and redeem these from sorrow. With the four immeasurables, I generate the mind of enlightenment, and for that purpose, I shall accumulate the two accumulations. Without separating from the mind of the dream state, this realm of space is pervaded by the Three Jewels like a sesame pod. Remembering the seven noble ones and the seven cognitions, I also recite the verses of recollection. Through the door of the six antidotes, I also arrange the body, prostrate, offer, and confess sins, rejoice, exhort, supplicate, take refuge, generate the mind of enlightenment, give the body, take vows, and vow to abide in the Great Vehicle path. And I shall completely dedicate these to the Great Enlightenment. All of these are transformed into the Dharmadhatu. If I contemplate where the place of offering and the assembly of offerings initially came from, and where they are now going, they came from nowhere and go nowhere. These internal and external phenomena are also the same. All are the magical manifestations of one's own mind, appearing like illusions, like truth. Appearing as illusory, therefore, gather them into the body, and then gather the body into the mind. The mind is without color, without form, naturally luminous, and primordially unborn. The discriminating wisdom itself also becomes luminous. In between, awareness is nothing, does not abide in anything, has not accomplished anything, has not arisen in any form, all elaborations are completely pacified, like the midday sky of an autumn afternoon, the sky where all the dust of signs has cleared away. In the Vajra Samadhi, abide in the absence of appearance as much as possible. If the mind becomes distracted due to unfamiliarity, immediately draw it back and abide. Other sessions should also be done in the same way. The number of sessions should be many and the duration short. When it becomes familiar and slightly stable, gradually lengthen it. The five obscurations are pacified by their respective antidotes. Then open your eyes and exclaim, "Emaho! How wondrous!" The Dharmadhatu is devoid of anything, yet everything appears. This is truly wondrous! These are the false magical manifestations of one's own mind, appearing like illusions, like truth. Appearing as illusory.
