The Ratnakuta Sutra also states: If someone says, "Do not perform any virtuous deeds," then such a statement implies acceptance of the non-Buddhist doctrine that liberation is attained through the exhaustion of karma. In the teachings of the Bhagavan, liberation is attained through the exhaustion of afflictions, not through the exhaustion of karma. It is impossible to exhaust the karma accumulated since beginningless time, as it is infinite. When experiencing the results of karma in the lower realms, other karmas also arise. If afflictions are not eliminated and remain as a cause, karma cannot be prevented, just as the light of a candle does not cease as long as the candle is not extinguished. As previously stated, it is impossible to exhaust afflictions by denigrating higher insight (vipassanā). If one thinks that higher insight should be relied upon to exhaust afflictions, then in that case, liberation is accomplished by the exhaustion of afflictions alone, and the statement about exhausting karma becomes meaningless. If someone says, "Do not perform non-virtuous deeds," then it is reasonable to ask, why prevent virtuous deeds? If the reason given is to prevent samsara, that is also unreasonable. Only virtuous deeds motivated by inverted conceptions of self and so on lead to samsara. The actions of Bodhisattvas, motivated by great compassion and dedicated to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment, do not lead to samsara. As stated in the Ten Bhumi Sutra: "Through the specific practice of dedication and so forth of the ten paths of virtuous action, one accomplishes the states of Hearer, Solitary Realizer, Bodhisattva, and Buddha." The Holy Ratnakuta Sutra also states: "Just as all great rivers enter the great ocean, the virtuous accumulations of Bodhisattvas from various sources all become of one taste in omniscience." The form bodies of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, pure lands, light, retinue, vast enjoyment, and all perfections are the result of generosity and other meritorious

It also contradicts what the Blessed One said in the Sutras and those Sutras that (good deeds) are the fruit of (Buddha's) accumulation. Because prohibiting virtuous conduct also prohibits Pratimoksha vows and the like. Therefore, shaving the head, shaving the beard, wearing saffron robes, and so on, also become meaningless. If one does not incline towards manifestly accumulating virtuous actions, then one will completely incline towards not inclining towards samsara, and not inclining towards benefiting sentient beings, therefore, his Bodhi will also be delayed. In the Holy *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra*, it is also said: "I have not predicted that those who are very disinclined to benefit sentient beings and very disinclined to manifestly accumulate conditioned phenomena will attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment." In the Holy *Upaliparipṛcchā Sūtra*, it is also said: "Not inclining towards samsara is the best way for Bodhisattvas to break their vows. Completely accepting samsara is the best way to keep vows." In the Holy *Vimalakīrti Nirdeśa Sūtra*, it is also said: "Entering samsara with skillful means is the liberation of Bodhisattvas. Wisdom without skillful means is bondage. Skillful means without wisdom is also bondage. Skillful means with wisdom is liberation. Wisdom with skillful means is also liberation." In the Holy *Akasagarbha Sutra*, it is also said: "Being completely disgusted with samsara is the work of Mara for Bodhisattvas." In the *Compendium of Sutras*, it is also said: "To separately contemplate the unconditioned, and to be completely disgusted with conditioned virtue, is the work of Mara. To fully understand the path to Bodhi, and not to seek the path of the Paramitas, is the work of Mara." Again, in the same text, it says: "From being attached to generosity to being attached to wisdom is the work of Mara." What is said there is not to prohibit the practice of generosity and so on, but to be attached to self-grasping and grasping at what is mine, to be attached to the grasper and the grasped, and to be attached to the characteristics of generosity and so on in a perverse way.
