To negate "I" is to say that giving, etc., which are motivated by clinging to inverted appearances, will not become completely pure, and are said to be the work of demons. If that were not the case, then meditation should not be practiced either. If that were the case, how could one be liberated? Therefore, in order to show that giving, etc., which are performed with the perception of various objects, are not completely pure, the Noble Ākāśagarbha Sūtra also says: "The giving, etc., of beings who have inverted actions and various perceptions are the work of demons." In the complete dedication of the Three Heaps Sūtra, it is also said: "Whatever giving, ethics, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom I have done, if I have not realized equality, and have fallen into objects, and have strived in giving, and have held ethics as supreme and have protected ethics, and have meditated on patience with the perception of self and other, all those actions I confess separately." The reason for saying this is also because of the perception of various objects, which are motivated by clinging to inverted appearances, and it is only to explain that giving, etc., are not completely pure, and not to deny the practice of giving, etc., at all times. If that were not the case, then not only would the situation of inverted objects be negated, but all giving, etc., would be negated without distinction. In the Brahma's Inquiry Sūtra, it is also said: "All these actions are completely known. Not completely knowing is enlightenment," and so on. The reason for saying this is that it is in the context of discriminating birth, etc., so it is said to be completely known. The bodhisattva who abides in the absence of signs and enters without conceptualization is the one who is prophesied, and not otherwise. It is only shown in this way that all giving, etc., are shown to be unborn in the ultimate truth, but it is not said that they should not be practiced. If that were not the case, then the names of the Buddhas whom the Bhagavan honored before Dīpaṃkara, the Bhagavan would

Those who do not practice (certain behaviors), why didn't they negate the actions of the Blessed One when he was dwelling in the state of a Bodhisattva? Dipamkara Buddha also did not negate the actions of the Blessed One at that time, but only when he saw him abiding in the eighth bhumi, abiding in peace and without characteristics, did he prophesy to the Blessed One. At that time, he did not prohibit his actions. In the eighth bhumi, Bodhisattvas abide in the supreme state of being without characteristics, and they may completely pass into nirvana there, therefore the Buddhas above the tenth bhumi will prevent them. If all actions should not be done, then it would contradict everything said before. Also, it is said in the Brahma-pariprccha-sutra: Giving should also be given, but do not cling to its results; keeping precepts should also be guarded, but not with self-attachment, and so on. Brahma, Bodhisattvas who possess four qualities will not turn back from the Buddha's teachings. What are these four? Namely: completely accepting immeasurable samsara; making offerings to immeasurable Buddhas and immeasurable offerings, and so on, which contradicts all statements. It cannot be said that only those with dull faculties should practice, and those with sharp faculties should not. Because Bodhisattvas from the first bhumi to the tenth bhumi will have actions such as giving, and the rest are not completely unpracticed. It also cannot be said that those who abide in the bhumis are those with dull faculties, because in the Arya-Nemi-pariprccha-sutra it is also said: Abiding in the tolerance of non-arising dharmas itself, one should practice giving, great giving, and supreme giving. In the Sutra Samuccaya, it is also praised: Bodhisattvas who are endowed with the six perfections and so on, travel by the miraculous power of the Tathagata. There is nothing faster than traveling by the miraculous power of the Tathagata. Apart from the six perfections and the ten bhumis, Bodhisattvas
