Until it is transformed, one should abide without manifest fabrication. In short, all samadhis have six faults: laziness, forgetting the object, sinking, excitement, non-application, and application. As antidotes to these, one should cultivate eight aspects of abandonment, namely: faith, desire, effort, pliancy, mindfulness, awareness, attention, and equanimity. Among these, the first four are the antidotes to laziness. Thus, with the characteristic of having great faith in the qualities of samadhi, faith causes the yogi to generate desire. Then, having generated desire, one initiates diligence. Then, relying on diligence, one makes body and mind serviceable. Then, with body and mind having great pliancy, laziness will be reversed. Therefore, laziness is abandoned by faith and so forth, so one should cultivate them. Mindfulness is the antidote to forgetting the object. Awareness is the antidote to both sinking and excitement, because it recognizes and abandons them. When sinking and excitement have not subsided, non-application is a fault, therefore, as its antidote, one should cultivate attention. When sinking and excitement have completely subsided and the mind enters tranquility, application is a fault, at that time, as its antidote, one should cultivate equanimity. When the mind has entered evenly, if one applies effort, then at that time the mind will be distracted. If one does not apply effort when the mind has sunk, then at that time, because there is no higher seeing, like a blind person, the mind will sink. Therefore, one should eliminate the mind's timidity, pacify excitement, and having become equal, abide in equanimity. After that, the yogi should, for as long as there is joy, abide without manifest fabrication, only cultivating and abiding in that. If it becomes harmful to body and mind, then from time to time one should look at the entire world and realize it as illusion, dream, like a moon in water, like an optical illusion. Thus, it is also taught in entering into non-conceptualization: with transcendental wisdom, one sees all phenomena equally, like the center of the sky.

After that, what is attained is seen as illusion, mirage, and water moon. Having realized beings as like illusions, generate great compassion for all sentient beings, and think like this: These childlike minds, not realizing such profound Dharma, from the beginning cling to the peaceful Dharmas and so on, becoming inverted, accumulating various actions and afflictions. Therefore, they wander in samsara, so in any case, I must make them understand such profound Dharma. Think like this. After that, take a rest. Again, enter into the samadhi of the non-appearance of all dharmas in the same way. Also, if the mind becomes weary, rest and practice in the same way. With such a sequence, sit for an hour, or half a moment, or an hour, or as long as you can. Then, if you want to get up from samadhi, without breaking the lotus position, you should think like this: Although all these dharmas are unborn in the ultimate sense, like illusions, due to the power of the aggregation of various specifically determined causes and conditions, if not examined, only various pleasing appearances arise. Therefore, one will not fall into nihilism. Nor will one fall into the extreme of superimposition, because it is not found when analyzed with wisdom. Therefore, one will not fall into the extreme of permanence and superimposition. Among them, those who are separated from the eye of wisdom, become inverted minds, cling to self, and perform various actions, wander in samsara. Those who do not tend to samsara, and are separated from great compassion, and do not perfect the perfections such as giving for the sake of sentient beings, but only tame their own minds, fall into the enlightenment of hearers or solitary Buddhas because they have no means. Those who understand that beings have no self-nature, and also vow to liberate all beings with the power of great compassion, like illusionists, whose minds are not inverted, fully accumulate vast collections of merit and wisdom.

Having attained the state of the Tathagata, he abides, perfectly accomplishing all forms of benefit and happiness for all beings in samsara. Those who, through the power of the accumulation of wisdom, have abandoned all defilements, will not fall into samsara again. And because of looking at all sentient beings, they accumulate vast and immeasurable accumulations of merit, so they will not fall into nirvana either. It also becomes a close support for all sentient beings. Therefore, those who wish to generate benefit and happiness for all sentient beings, and those who wish to attain non-abiding nirvana, should always strive to accomplish vast accumulations of merit and wisdom. One should think like this. Thus, it is also taught in the Secret Sutra of the Tathagata: The accumulation of wisdom will eliminate all defilements. The accumulation of merit will become a close support for all sentient beings. O Bhagavan, since this is the case, Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should strive for the accumulation of merit and wisdom. So it is said. It is also taught in the Sutra of the Appearance of the Holy Tathagata: The appearance of the Tathagatas is not due to a single cause. Why is that? Indeed, O son of the king, the Tathagatas are perfectly accomplished by hundreds of thousands of immeasurable causes. What are the ten? That is to say, the immeasurable accumulation of merit and wisdom, never being satisfied, is the cause of perfect accomplishment, and so on, extensively explained. It is also taught in the Holy Vimalakirti Sutra: Friends, the body of the Tathagata is certainly born from a hundred merits. It is certainly born from all virtuous dharmas. It is certainly born from immeasurable virtuous deeds, and so on, extensively explained. Having done so, slowly undo the lotus position. Prostrate to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas abiding in the ten directions, and make offerings and praises to them. Make great aspirations such as the Holy Auspicious Conduct Prayer. Then, for the sake of unsurpassed Bodhi, which has the essence of emptiness and compassion,
