Thus. Although meditation is practiced, it does not destroy the ego-grasping. Its afflictions and external realms are extremely disturbed. This superior conduct is like practicing meditation. So it is said. Moreover, in the Holy Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra, the stages of cultivating wisdom are briefly taught: One should rely well on the mind-only, and should not examine external objects. From the object of suchness, one should also eliminate the mind-only. After eliminating the mind-only, one should also eliminate from the signless. The yogi who dwells in the signless sees the Great Vehicle. The place of peaceful spontaneous accomplishment is well purified by prayers. The supreme wisdom of selflessness is seen through the signless. The meaning here is: Initially, the yogi should contemplate, among the form dharmas, those external objects such as form, which others have conceived, are these different from consciousness? Or is consciousness itself appearing in that way? Is it like a dream state? Thus, one should observe. At that time, apart from consciousness, analyze down to the ultimate particles. When the ultimate particles are also individually analyzed by divisions, the yogi does not see those objects. Because he does not see them, he thinks: All these are mind-only, there is no external object. Thus he thinks. As it is said: One should rely well on the mind-only, and should not examine external objects. Thus, saying this is to abandon the discrimination of form dharmas. It is the nature of being objectifiable, but if one observes and analyzes, it cannot be obtained. Having thus analyzed the form dharmas, one should analyze the formless dharmas. At that time, the so-called mind-only, if there is no object to be grasped, then there cannot be a grasper, because the grasper depends on the grasped. Therefore, one should contemplate and think: The mind is separate from the grasper and the grasped, it is only non-dual. From the nature of non-duality, from the object of suchness, one should also eliminate the mind-only. One should vigorously eliminate the aspect of the grasper, and should abide in the non-dual awareness, this is the word of eliminating the two graspers. Having thus eliminated the mind-only, two

It should also be transformed from the wisdom of non-appearance, because it is unreasonable for things to arise from self and other, so the grasped and the grasper are only false. Since it is not separate from them, it should also be examined whether it is not true, and also the clinging to reality of the dualistic wisdom should be abandoned. One should abide in dualistic wisdom, only abide in the wisdom of non-appearance, this is the concluding statement. Thus, it is abiding in the realization that all dharmas are without inherent existence. Abiding in this, entering the peak of reality, is entering the samadhi of non-discrimination. Thus, when the yogi's dualistic wisdom abides in the wisdom of non-appearance, he abides in the path of seeing, thereby seeing the Great Vehicle. That only supreme seeing is called the Great Vehicle. That only supreme seeing is when all dharmas are examined with the eye of wisdom, and when the light of true wisdom arises, nothing is seen. It is also said in the sutra: What is the seeing of the ultimate truth? It is that nothing is seen of all dharmas. Here, this refers to such non-seeing, so it is said "non-seeing". It does not mean closing the eyes, or like a blind person, etc., the conditions are not complete, or not seeing due to non-attention. Therefore, since the reversed habits of clinging to reality, etc., have not been abandoned, just like arising from the samadhi of non-thought, the aggregates of afflictions such as desire, etc., which have their root in clinging to reality, etc., will still arise, so the yogi becomes a non-liberated one. It is also said in the Noble Two Truths: The root of desire, etc., is clinging to reality. From the dharani of entering non-discrimination, it is said that by not paying attention, the characteristics of form, etc., are abandoned, that also refers to not paying attention where it does not appear when examined with wisdom. It is not just the absence of attention, but like the samadhi of non-thought, etc., from beginningless time, it is the attention of clinging to reality to form, etc.
