It comes from seeing the benefits of samadhi. The benefits of samadhi are also all the excellent qualities between the Tathagatas. It pacifies, even so, if one does not rejoice in samadhi, then one likes distraction, therefore it pacifies, it comes from seeing the faults of distraction. The faults of distraction are also all the sufferings of the uninterrupted hell. It completely pacifies, in order to pacify those who arise such as greed and displeasure, it possesses displeasure and self. It makes one-pointed, because it is extremely consistent with one object, so it is extremely, that is, extremely unique, doing it like that, through the seven aspects, from the effort of a mind free from faults, it only enters naturally in that way, that is the meaning. It places equally, because after entering naturally there is no tasting of flavor, so it is spontaneously accomplished, and just by entering naturally, it makes the mind hold onto the correct object. It is said in the Ornament of the Sutras: The mind is focused on the object, it should not be continuously distracted. Once distraction is quickly noticed, it should be immediately returned from it. The wise should gradually gather the mind inward. After that, by seeing the qualities, make the mind rejoice in samadhi. In order to see the faults of distraction, dislike it and pacify it. Greed and displeasure, etc., arise, and should also be pacified in the same way. After that, the one who possesses discipline and diligence, with the mind having manifest intention, obtains natural arising. Through familiarizing with it, one no longer intends. Thus it is said. Furthermore, samadhi only arises from the separation of body and mind being pure, as previously stated. Thus, when there is no manifest intention towards that object, but by natural arising, the mind enters as long as it desires, then one should know that tranquility has been perfected. Thus one should know samadhi. Thus, after generating samadhi, great compassion is manifested towards sentient beings and towards the object of Dharma, and without paying attention to things and non-things, and one's own things and other's things, etc., thereby all

One should withdraw the mind from all things and become devoid of any thought. From such absence of thought, the Bhagavati Prajnaparamita is generated, for it is completely separated from the categories of measure, object of measurement, and result, and is therefore of a self-illuminating nature. Having directly realized it in a manner of non-seeing, through its power, one thinks: Alas, beings are by nature liberated from suffering, but due to the power of ignorance, they have not realized it themselves. How shall I cause them to realize it? Having thus contemplated, focusing on all beings with that very nature, one generates great compassion, the nature of non-objectification, and then, with that very nature, one contemplates the nature of oneself and all things, as well as the nature of great compassion, together with the Bhagavati Prajnaparamita, for the sake of its nature, becoming an indivisible nature, non-dual, and merged into one taste. This very seeing of Suchness is that from which, having ascertained with certainty through wisdom, all dharmas are only invisible. It is not from the absence of mental engagement, like the eyes of those who are asleep or have fainted. If that were the case, since the habitual tendencies have not been abandoned, just as one arises from the samadhi of non-perception, etc., one would again generate attachment and other afflictions, which are rooted in clinging to appearances such as form, etc., and thus the yogi would certainly not be liberated. For clinging to appearances, which has existed since beginningless time, merely abandoning mental engagement is not enough to eliminate it, for that would imply that the samadhi of non-perception, etc., could also eliminate clinging. Without abandoning doubt about objects such as form, etc., one cannot completely abandon mental engagement with them, just as one cannot abandon burning without abandoning fire. Therefore, it must be determined that only by severing the seed of doubt can one be liberated from clinging to appearances such as form, etc. For severing the seed of doubt, both shamatha and vipashyana are mutually concordant. Thus, if there is an appearance of shamatha, characterized by one-pointedness of mind, then with vipashyana, another name for wisdom, by analyzing the nature of all dharmas, such as existence and non-existence, etc., the yogi becomes free from doubt. Furthermore, it is free from manifest clinging to forms and so on. Being free from that, one realizes that all phenomena are without inherent existence. That itself is the Perfection of Wisdom. At that time, calm abiding and insight, because of their very nature, and because of the order of expression, wisdom and great compassion are inseparable, the path of union, the very nature of generating the mind of enlightenment, the yoga of supreme non-conceptualization, the nature of all merit, the very nature of the conventional and ultimate truths. The Bodhisattva is also of that nature. That yoga, at that time, is the very essence of wisdom, the union of the nature of wisdom and means. Being free from all defilements and impurities such as attachment, and being the cause of other special wisdoms, it is the nature of mirror-like wisdom. Because of the nature of not clinging to all differences, it is the nature of the wisdom of equality. Because of the nature of being free from all perversions, it is the nature of discriminating wisdom. Because of the nature of accomplishing benefit for all beings, it is the nature of the wisdom of accomplishing activities. Because of being free from the aspects of the apprehended and the apprehender, it is the nature of the wisdom of the extremely pure realm of phenomena. By turning away from the object of focus, it is the nature of emptiness. By turning away from all signs, it is the nature of signlessness. By turning away from wrong aspirations, it is the nature of wishlessness. By turning away from perverse formations, it is the nature of non-formation, which is the nature of the four doors of liberation. Likewise, by turning away from focusing on just that, such as the eye, it is the nature of inner emptiness. By turning away from focusing on forms and so on, it is the nature of outer emptiness. By turning away from the basis of inner and outer, it is the nature of inner-outer emptiness. The basis of the senses is the inner and outer held by the mind, and even the external is not held by the senses. By turning away from focusing on emptiness, it is the nature of emptiness. By turning away from excessive attachment to the vessel world,
