Ro. The two parts are the obscuration of afflictions and the obscuration of meditative absorption. Those who are not superior are liberated from one side of the obscuration of afflictions and the obscuration of knowledge, which are the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. Those who are superior are the Buddhas, who are completely liberated from the obscuration of knowledge. With remainder is the realm of nirvana with the remainder of aggregates. Without remainder is the realm of nirvana without remainder. In terms of names, the Blessed One said: "Without exception abandoned, definitely abandoned, purified, exhausted, free from desire, ceased, pacified, disappeared, unconditioned, difficult to see, immovable, unyielding, deathless, without outflows, place, continent, protector, refuge, kinsman, without death and transmigration, without epidemic disease, happiness, peace, virtuous, without disease, unshakeable, and nirvana." Among them, "without exception abandoned" is a brief statement. The rest is an extensive explanation. "Definitely abandoned" is abandoning all entanglements. "Purified" is because it exhausts the latent tendencies, which is spoken from the perspective of abandoning the habitual imprints. If there is no root, it will never arise, that is the meaning. This is again divided into two types by the difference between the antidote paths of seeing and meditation, namely "exhausted" and "free from desire." Among them, "exhausted" is spoken from the perspective of being free from the path of seeing, because only a small amount of the aggregates of afflictions remain. "Free from desire" is the path of meditation, because it is the thorough cultivation of the realization of being free from desire from the ground. If both are abandoned, then for the unborn nature, the later existence is the cessation of suffering, and the mind of seeing the Dharma. Unpleasantness is pacified, because it is not universally practiced. Therefore, from the perspective of abandoning the two kinds of suffering, its result is called "cessation" and "pacification." Holding onto the exhaustion of the remaining part that is close to harm is called "disappearance." Having done so, it is "without exception abandoned."

It should be understood as having been explained. The unconditioned (འདུས་མ་བྱས་) is because it is devoid of the three characteristics, being the opposite of the conditioned (འདུས་བྱས་). Difficult to see is because it is far beyond the realm of the flesh eye and the divine eye. Unwavering is because it is free from migration and change. Unsubmissive is because in the absence of the three existences of desire and the formless realm, it does not submit to the existences. Deathless is because it is free from the demon of the aggregates, meaning that death is the absence of the aggregates as a basis. Without outflows is because it is free from the demon of afflictions. Abode is because it is the basis of the joy of liberation. Island is because it is completely separated from the three realms, becoming land for the great ocean of samsara. Protector is because it can avert all harm, and obtaining it means being free from all harm such as birth. Refuge is because thinking and practice there are the basis for having fruit, and the thinking and practice done there must rely on the basis of having fruit. Kinsman is because it is the basis for going to the supreme noble one, that is, the object of the method for obtaining Arhatship. Without death and transmigration is because since there is no birth, decay is impossible. Without pestilence is because there is no suffering that is destroyed by desire. Completely without suffering is because there is no grief, lamentation, pain, displeasure, and disturbance, so it is coolness. Bliss is because it is free from the fear of disease, old age, and death, and is the support for the noble one's dwelling. Peaceful is because it is the basis of all virtuous dharmas. The very basis of bliss is because it is the basis of bliss that transcends the world. Becoming virtuous is because through the practice of bliss, it is the object of the goal of obtaining it. Without disease is because it is free from the disease of obscurations such as afflictions. For example, three causes lead to the arising of disease, namely faults.
