Subsequently knowing, thus, suffering, origin, cessation, and path, are the sixteen moments focused on the four truths. Among them, the eight moments of Dharma-knowing forbearance and Dharma-knowing wisdom are the antidotes to the afflictions that operate in the desire realm. The moments of subsequent-knowing forbearance and subsequent-knowing wisdom are the antidotes to the afflictions that operate in the form and formless realms. Among them, all the moments of forbearance, like expelling a thief, are for the sake of abandoning afflictions. With the nature of the uninterrupted path, the wisdom of self-nature, seeing the self-nature of suffering and so on, cuts off the attainment of afflictions. The moments of wisdom also, when afflictions are abandoned, act in the manner of closing doors and windows, are the nature of the path of liberation, seeing the certainty of suffering and so on, arise together with the attainment of being free from afflictions, some say. Others say that only subsequent knowing is the nature of certainty, and those twelve are the manifestors. This and that also need to be distinguished. Here, the fifteen moments are the path of seeing. Among them, the yogi is said to have entered the fruit of stream-entry. Subsequent knowing on the path is the path of meditation, only that moment is the stream-enterer. The stream is the path that flows into the ocean of Nirvana, that is, entering that path. If it lingers, then there are only seven human existences, and seven intermediate existences, and similarly in the heavens, some say that in this way, the twenty-eight existences are connected separately. Others say that there are only seven. Therefore, if it lingers like that, it is called the seven-existence one. Among them, wanting to know what has never been before, there is a desire to see, but there is nothing to see. Here, in the path of seeing, truly realizing reality as it is, is enlightenment and complete enlightenment, its branches, the seven branches of enlightenment are obtained separately, namely mindfulness, discrimination of dharmas, diligence, joy, tranquility, samadhi, and equanimity. Those are also branches of complete enlightenment. Among them, discrimination of dharmas and diligence

English
I, joy, these three are on the side of insight. Extreme pliancy, concentration, and equanimity are on the side of calm abiding. Mindfulness is on both sides. Joy is the mind being happy with the object of focus. Equanimity is the spontaneous arising of accomplishment. It is also said in distinguishing the middle and the extremes: Nature limb, place limb, third, renunciation limb, fourth, benefit limb. Three kinds of non-affliction limbs. In this, it is intended to show the basis, place, and nature. Thus it is said. The place of enlightenment is mindfulness. Nature is distinguishing dharmas. Renunciation is diligence. Benefit is joy. The antidote to the cause of all afflictions, bad states, is extreme pliancy, therefore it is the basis of all non-afflictions. The place is concentration. Nature is equanimity. Therefore, there are ten things to be abandoned by seeing suffering: desire, anger, pride, ignorance, and doubt, these five, and the view of the aggregates, the view of extremes, wrong view, view of holding views as supreme, and the view of holding morality and asceticism as supreme, these five. Only seven of these are to be abandoned by seeing the origin and cessation: except for the view of the aggregates, the view of extremes, and the view of holding morality and asceticism as supreme. There are eight things to be abandoned by seeing the path, these together with holding morality and asceticism as supreme. There are four things to be abandoned by cultivation: desire, anger, pride, and ignorance of the desire realm. In the form and formless realms, all of these are also present, only anger is abandoned. Therefore, it becomes ninety-eight. Thus, for those who see the truth of suffering and so on, the path itself is to cultivate again with effort. The third aggregate, the noble eightfold path, is to be cultivated. That is, the limbs of right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration. Among these, right view, right thought, and right effort are the aggregate of wisdom. Right speech, right action, and right livelihood are morality.
