It is with the person. If you ask which are not truly possessed, they are those without a person. If you ask which are virtuous, which are non-virtuous, and which are unspecified? Ten are all three types, namely the seven consciousness realms, form, sound, and the dharma realm. The remaining eight are unspecified. Those are also of two types: those that are obscured and unspecified are non-manifest forms, and those that are not obscured and unspecified are emanated minds, etc. That which is obscured is that which is associated with afflictions. If you ask which are of an internal nature? There are twelve: form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and some of the dharma realm. If you ask which are external? There are six, namely those that are not included above. If you ask which have an object of focus? The seven consciousness realms and also the dharma realm. The remaining ten do not have an object of focus. Thus, these eighteen realms are only sometimes condensed into twelve sources, and sometimes very briefly condensed into five aggregates. Those are the four noble truths: suffering, origin, cessation, and path. They are also the three natures: the completely imputed, the other-powered, and the thoroughly established. They are also two: the conventional truth and the ultimate truth. They are also only one: the ultimate truth that is non-dual. That is also beyond elaboration. That is the Great Vehicle Prajnaparamita, the ultimate bodhicitta. Among these, the side to be abandoned is all defilement, its result is the truth of suffering, and the method of obtaining it is the truth of origin. The side to be adopted is complete purification, its result is the truth of cessation, and the method of obtaining it is the truth of the path. Among these, what is included within the conventional truth are the truths of suffering, origin, and path. The self-nature of the ultimate truth is the truth of cessation. Therefore, there are only two truths. As it is said in the Sutra of the Meeting of Father and Son: "The wise of the world know well these two truths, not heard from others but seen by themselves. Whatever is conventional is also ultimate, there is no third truth."

There is not. Thus it was said. Similarly, when the noble Brahma asked, there is no suffering. There is no origin of suffering. There is no cessation. There is no truth of the path of the noble ones. However, Brahma, that which is the non-arising of suffering is the truth of the noble ones. That which is the non-pervasive origin is the truth of the noble ones. That which is the complete cessation, without arising or ceasing, is the truth of the noble ones. That which is the cultivation of the path with compassion for all things of equality is the truth of the noble ones. Therefore, in the ultimate sense, the truths such as suffering do not exist. In order to turn away from samsara and for the sake of the Hearers, it is only for the sake of entering into the suchness of the selflessness of the person that it is shown by the nature of impermanence and so on. It is only by considering the two selflessnesses that it is to be understood. Those who also denigrate the conventional nature, and those who are overly attached to listening to the sublime scriptures and so on, with inverted intelligence, impute permanence and so on to things that are not conventionally existent, that are merely false, and also grasp form and so on as they appear, those people, with minds fallen to the extremes of imputation and denigration, are separated from the two extremes. Therefore, in order not to enter the very deep ocean of the ultimate truth, the Blessed One, in the Sutra Unraveling the Intent, clearly stated that the teaching of non-arising and so on is only in terms of the ultimate truth, and by teaching the three intentions of no-self-nature, established the Middle Way, which is free from the two extremes, as the definitive meaning. Among these, that which is believed without investigation, seeing things as they are, like illusions, that which is the dependent arising is the nature of other-power. Moreover, conventionally, like an illusion, it is not only born by the power of other conditions, but is established as the earth-born no-self-nature. Whatever is dependently arisen, that is inherently empty.
