That which generates feelings such as happiness with just a little is called contact arising from the mind. It is said that contact arises from something similar to the transformation of the senses. Therefore, due to the difference of the senses, from the contact arising from the gathering of the eye sense to the contact arising from the gathering of the mind sense. It is also said in the Abhidharma: When the three gather, that which completely cuts off the transformation of the senses is contact, which is the basis for generating feelings and has such a function. The term "gathering" refers to the three—fruit, cause, and existing entity—that touch each other. Attention is the mind turning towards an object, meaning it is accompanied by praise of the object. Samadhi is the dharma that is the antidote to distraction, the sole cause of continuous non-distraction, while attention is when the mind does not stray from the object for even a moment. Desire is the very wish to act as the function of consciousness. Desire is different from craving. For example, lac cha is the cause that keeps many pieces of wood from separating. Similarly, craving is the cause that keeps the mind from separating from its manifest attachment to an object, while desire is merely the thought of wanting to act. Faith is when the mind believes in its own object as its own nature, accompanied by extreme faith, like a moth to a flame. Attention is attention to an object; there, the mind is in control, but here, the object is. Faith is the mind's conviction that truth, the Three Jewels, and the results of karma exist, possess qualities, and have power. If we differentiate it, it is the aspect of faith that is convinced of its existence, the aspect of rejoicing in its qualities, and the aspect of deeply desiring that one can also achieve one's own position through its power. Truth refers to the four noble truths, such as suffering. There are also two aspects: conventional truth and ultimate truth. Diligence is joy in virtue. Mindfulness is the mind's lack of forgetfulness regarding actions that have been done, are being done, and will be done, and the mind's manifestation of remembrance. Samadhi is the one-pointedness of mind, focusing on one point. Wisdom is the thorough discrimination of phenomena, having the function of dispelling doubt.

Having. Regarding things, one uses one's own intelligence to distinguish the parts of the self of person and the self of phenomena, thereby seeking its own essence. When examining the essence of persons and phenomena, due to the lack of inherent existence, nothing at all can be observed. Conceptualization refers to that which, combined with something, causes consciousness to completely cut off coarse objects, like the length and beauty of a vase, and this is called pervasive conceptualization. Examination refers to the dharma arising from the mind that enters into observing the subtle aspects of whether a vase is old or sturdy. Non-shame is not cultivating virtuous dharmas, that is, not practicing them. Shame is the opposite of that. Disgust refers to that which, combined with some dharma, sees the faults of samsara, and therefore arises disgust from samsara, which is a true force that is in accordance with abandoning afflictions. Extreme joy refers to the mind's extreme joy and attachment, which is different from mental pleasure. Fitness refers to the body and mind becoming usable. Non-pliancy refers to the heaviness, dullness, and sleepiness of the body and mind. Harm refers to that which, combined with some dharma, harms others with whipping, etc., due to anger. The dharma that is contrary to this is non-harm. Shame refers to that which, by the power of what, prevents evil by the power of oneself and dharma, and this is the dharma that is the cause of not falling into evil, called shame. Humility refers to being ashamed of faults in dependence on others. Equanimity refers to that by which the mind dwells equally on the object of focus, and this is the equality of mind. By this, the mind does not become attached to it, nor does it become angry. This is also the wisdom possessed by the Arhats, which is discriminating equanimity. And what ordinary beings possess is non-discriminating equanimity that does not possess wisdom. Liberation refers to the mind being without defilements, and if there is abandonment of afflictions, etc., then liberation is called Nirvana, which is a dharma arising from the mind. For beings, the meaning of goodness is the meaning of virtue, and liberation is also the nature of being liberated from all harm, therefore it is non-inverted goodness, that is, being without disease.
