Merely with a single thought of wisdom itself, one enjoys all desirable qualities, and after death, is reborn in the world of Brahma. So, why is such a thing not desired for hatred? Because hatred has great inherent faults, and because it is devoid of compassion, it is impossible to be a means. If someone thinks that accomplishing the benefit of others is more important than accomplishing one's own benefit, even if one gets angry at others, one can guide them, and because one has experienced suffering beforehand, one can immediately restrain them, and one can prevent unfavorable things, then what fault is there in anger? Answer: Distinguishing situations will lead to the fault of the habit of anger, which will lead to the fault of the decline of compassion, and if compassion declines, it is like cutting off the root. If someone again says that doing so is beneficial to that sentient being, answer: Even so, because the compassion of the Bodhisattva declines, it will lead to the interruption of the stream of benefit for vast numbers of sentient beings. In the chapter of the "Noble Single Truth Sutra," it also says: One should know that the example of a son abides in compassion. What is said there about strongly preventing compassion is said by placing worldly affairs solely under the control of a common master. If it is necessary to prevent, then if one becomes angry at a Bodhisattva who wants to benefit, that will also become a non-Bodhisattva, and there will be no benefit for either side there. Thus, if someone says that lust also has many faults, because one is attached to one's own happiness, one will ignore the suffering of others, answer: What is seen is true, but this is for those who are not accustomed to regarding the suffering of others as their own suffering. If that is the case, then for those who are closely protected, with or without a master, and those who are protected by lineage and the banner of Dharma, will they not engage in sexual misconduct due to lust? Answer: If there is benefit for sentient beings, and there is no direct harm to sentient beings, then after clear observation and connection, there is no fault. For those who truly practice celibacy, one should avoid them from afar, and one should offer them respect like one's mother and sisters. If that is the case, then should monks also practice in the same way? Answer: No, because they accomplish the benefit of sentient beings by practicing celibacy in other ways. If one sees a more excellent benefit for sentient beings than that, then one should renounce the precepts.

There is no possibility of fault there. Furthermore, in the world, parents scolding their children, seeing those things, is also out of compassion that is in harmony with oneself, seeing that they do not cling to their own happiness, having become accustomed to it in not a few eons, having become the nature of that great compassion and skillful means and wisdom, etc., for the Bodhisattva heroes who have perfected the roots of virtue, let alone that desire would be an obstacle, this is impossible. Like this, when there is no other means for the benefit of sentient beings, the transgression born of desire is said to be without transgression. It is also said regarding skillful means: Like a prostitute, the Bodhisattva who accomplishes the benefit, without attachment, abandons that sentient being. Even without having attained the ground, one should contemplate having the six perfections well practiced, the other saying is not, it is just mentioned in passing, just leave it there. Therefore, one should not give during anger. It is said when asked by the close attendants: Shariputra, the Bodhisattvas' Transgressions with great faults are two, which two? They are having anger and having ignorance. Whatever Bodhisattva does not knowingly lie even for the sake of his own life, in order to liberate those others from killing and bondage, etc., without regard for wealth, just speaking falsely with compassion, it will not become a transgression, and also many merits will increase. For sentient beings who associate with evil friends, using divisive speech in order to separate them, it will also not become a transgression, and also many merits will increase. For those who practice on the wrong path, in order to turn them back from there, repeatedly speaking harsh words, it will also not become a transgression, and also many merits will increase. For those who are fond of songs, dances, music, prostitutes, food, drink, kings, and thieves, etc., leading them with those talks, in order to make them enter virtue, even if one speaks all kinds of unrelated words, it will not become a transgression, and also many merits will increase. Thus, even if one commits natural transgressions, the Bodhisattva has no unwholesomeness, and also many merits will increase, let alone the prohibited transgressions?
