It is said so. As it is said in the King's Precious Garland: Even at the time of the seven steps, the Bodhisattva who gives away all possessions and holds the mind of enlightenment, like the sky, generates immeasurable rivers of merit. It is said so. Morality is to take it correctly and to be extremely respectful to all the trainings. The order of patience and diligence is to not be weary of both the suffering and the good deeds done by sentient and non-sentient beings. Samadhi and wisdom are perfectly gathered by the non-discriminating yoga, calm abiding and insight. This much also encompasses all the Great Vehicle. Among them, the first three perfections are the higher training of morality. Samadhi is the higher mind. The perfection of wisdom is the higher wisdom. Diligence is also important in all three trainings, because diligence is the companion of all. The order of generosity and so on is shown by the three causes. Because the latter arises depending on the former, one can truly take the precepts without relying on enjoyment. Having morality is patience. Having patience is to start diligence. Starting diligence is to generate samadhi. Keeping the mind balanced is to know the truth as it is. Because the former is inferior and the latter is superior, generosity is inferior and morality is superior, from the inferiority of samadhi to the superiority of wisdom. Because the former is coarse and the latter is subtle. Generosity is coarse because it is easy to enter and easy to do, while morality is subtle because it can be prevented. Likewise, up to wisdom. These are also in order: Dharma giving, pure morality, patience in non-arising, diligence in the Great Vehicle, abiding with compassion at the end, and the perfection of wisdom, which are revered by the wise. The end is the fourth dhyana. Thus, as the Blessed Mother Vajra Cutter says: Subhuti, as many Ganges rivers as there are grains of sand in the Ganges river, and the sand of those Ganges rivers

Just as the number of all those worlds, filled entirely with the seven precious things by only some men or women, and offered to the Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyaksambuddhas. If someone, even just holding a four-line verse from this Mahayana Dharma, and proclaiming it to others, the merit increased by this person will be even greater, immeasurable and countless. Furthermore, wherever a four-line verse from this Dharma is proclaimed, that land will become a stupa for the world including gods, humans, and asuras, what more to say about holding and so on? Just as it is said in the sutra. The reason for establishing the six perfections is to counteract the cause of non-Aryas—attachment to enjoyment and family, which are, in order, the perfections of generosity and discipline; to counteract the suffering born from the wrongdoings of sentient beings in samsara, and the weariness arising from prolonged habituation to white Dharma, which are, in order, the perfections of patience and diligence; to counteract the cause corresponding to distraction and wrong wisdom, similarly, the perfections of meditation and wisdom. Therefore, it can be seen from the establishment of the unfavorable and counteracting aspects. Cutting off the unfavorable aspects and their root of other perfections is only the perfection of wisdom, because wisdom, with suchness as its object, is the counteracting aspect at all times. Generosity and so on, if they do not possess the emptiness of the three spheres, then they cannot cut off the cause of generating miserliness and so on—conceptual thoughts. Therefore, only by relying on the power of wisdom, through the excellence of complete dedication, combining generosity and so on with going to the other shore, can generosity and so on be established as perfections, otherwise not. If generosity and so on are clung to with the three spheres, then they are referred to as worldly perfections. Similarly, the cause of non-distraction—the four perfections can make
