I, superior seeing, retention, fearlessness, the summary of Dharma, the one vehicle path, and possessing the Dharmakaya. These twenty-two kinds of bodhicitta, each completely encompassed by the six perfections. For these, having faith, and with faith and understanding, generating true faith, possessing merits; with faith and understanding, generating great joy, being able to obtain; with faith and understanding, manifestly desiring to obtain, whether by one's own will or by the exhortation of others, and not for other reasons, those endowed with merit will manifestly desire and fully contemplate the meaning, which will not be long before it is fulfilled. Therefore, generating bodhicitta, and the accumulation of virtuous deeds such as generosity, will gradually draw near, and the Bodhisattva initially temporarily generates the aspiration for bodhicitta. Its merits are also of two kinds, namely, the merit of seeing the Dharma is the present life, and the merit to be obtained, namely, obtaining on the Dharma seen and obtaining through lineage. Among them, if someone in the ten directions of limitless Buddha-fields, adorned with various jewels, and possessing the enjoyment of gods and humans, in each moment, offers to the Buddhas residing in the ten directions for kalpas equal to the dust of Buddha-fields. Another person, solely seeking unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, with a mind of faith generates the thought of "only this is so," then the latter will obtain merit that far surpasses the former. Therefore, obtaining the supreme of merit is the benefit of obtaining in the Dharma seen, because faith and merit both rely on the same single life. Thus, as faith increases, the stream of merit constantly accumulated washes away the stains of sin, and because it tends towards benefiting others, it is far from the three lower realms, as well as the paths of happiness and non-leakage, far from evil friends who proclaim inferior Dharma teachings, not to be suppressed by heretics and demons, and is revered by the three realms.

One sees the Tathagatas and is instructed by them. One obtains equality with Bodhisattvas and perfects all accumulations. One even realizes Buddhahood. These are the qualities obtained through the abbreviated transmission. The detailed explanation will be given according to the specific context. These twelve types of bodhicitta, including aspiration, etc., are also mentioned in the Great Mother Bhagavati Sutra. The Noble Inexhaustible Intellect Sutra, in sequence, explains eighty inexhaustible bodhicittas. For example: the initial arising of the mind, intention, effort, higher intention, the six perfections, the four immeasurables, the five superknowledges, the four ways of gathering disciples, the four analytical understandings, the four reliances, the accumulations of merit and wisdom, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, calm abiding, insight, dharani, fearlessness, the four seals of Dharma, the single path, and skillful means, because they are all inexhaustible. Here, the order of effort and higher intention is reversed to indicate that both can occur. Therefore, the Noble Asanga explained effort through the transmission of aspiration. In the fifteenth bodhicitta, it will become clear that the Bhagavati Mother, the intermediate noble one, through placement, realized the superknowledges. Because the Dharma taught by the Buddhas is diverse, there is no contradiction in teaching certain Dharmas in certain situations in some sutras, so there is no fault whatsoever. These bodhicittas should also be elaborated through examples that cause Bodhisattvas to generate great joy. Among them, the first bodhicitta is characterized by the aspiration for enlightenment with a specific purpose, and because it is inexhaustible, it is similar to the earth, because it is the basis for the growth of all Buddhist teachings and their qualities. The Ratnakuta Sutra also explicitly states the initial bodhicitta of a Bodhisattva.

From the moment of arising, in the beginning, middle, and end, by being the support for manifestly accomplishing the roots of virtue of sentient beings, having an inexhaustible mind towards all that is beneficial and harmful, and abiding in a state of equanimity like the earth. Thus, a Bodhisattva is not like one who, through the actions of a man, causes sentient beings to live there. From here onwards, the Bodhisattva manifestly turns towards the eight thoughts of a great person day and night. Those eight thoughts are: When will I be able to eliminate all the suffering of all sentient beings? When will I be able to ensure that poor and miserable sentient beings definitely obtain great wealth? When will I be able to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings with my own body, flesh, and blood? Even by dwelling in hell for a very long time, when will I be able to only benefit sentient beings? When will I be able to see the hopes of all the world perfectly fulfilled with wealth that transcends the world? After becoming a Buddha, when will I be able to liberate all sentient beings from all the suffering of samsara? A birth without the fruit of benefiting sentient beings, a mind that contradicts being extremely devoted to the meaning of sentient beings, an action that is not one with the meaning of others, speech that does not please all beings, a life that contradicts the meaning of others, a body that is weak in benefiting others, a mind that does not rejoice in benefiting others, wealth that does not perform actions that benefit sentient beings, power that contradicts acting for the benefit of beings, and those who rejoice in harming others, may they not arise! May the results of the sinful actions of all living beings fall upon me! May the results of all my virtuous deeds fall upon all sentient beings! These are the eight thoughts of a great person. After this, it is praised, as it is said in the Ratnakuta Sutra: Light Protector, in the womb of the virtuous queen of the Chakravartin King...
