Looking at blue forms, the fifth is "those" and so on. Similarly, the sixth is "yellow ones." Similarly, the seventh is "red ones." Similarly, the eighth is "white ones." Among these, small forms are counted as sentient beings because of their small size. Large forms are not counted as sentient beings, such as houses, palaces, mountains, and so on, because of their large size. How do they, in an appropriate manner, through liberation, subdue with the spheres that overcome attachment, and repeatedly vanish and become invisible? Having subdued, they are known by calm abiding and seen by insight, and thus understood, because there is no conceit. One can also enter into the ten kasinas. Because by subduing with the spheres that overcome attachment, and through these, making all such as earth completely vast, they are called kasinas. Sometimes, merely calling them spheres, they are called the spheres of the kasinas. Sometimes, they are specifically indicated through earth and so on, namely, kasina earth, kasina water, kasina fire, kasina wind, kasina blue, kasina yellow, kasina red, kasina white, and kasina space boundless sphere and kasina consciousness boundless sphere. These are also meditated upon with the intention of meaning, solely with the nature of non-reality. Therefore, solely with the nature of non-reality, these appear individually to yogis. The three samadhis are the nature of liberation. Among these, the self-nature of all dharmas is the nature of complete imputation. Since it is not truly existent, in order to fully understand that they are empty, one meditates on emptiness, the selflessness of phenomena, which is the emptiness samadhi, the door to liberation, emptiness. The absence of inherent existence is the perfectly established nature, namely, form, sound, smell, taste, tactile objects, male, female, and birth, aging, sickness, death, and so on.

Because of being separated from characteristics and because of being inexpressible, it is without characteristics. Therefore, in order to realize these without characteristics, one practices, which is called the samadhi of no characteristics, which is the door to liberation—no characteristics. The three realms are the nature of being controlled by other causes and conditions. Attachment to individuals and phenomena is the root of perversion and also afflictions. Therefore, this should be abandoned and not desired. Therefore, not desiring those things that are not desired is called the samadhi of no desire, which is the door to liberation—no desire. In some sutras, a fourth door to liberation is also mentioned, namely: the nature of space, which is manifest with the light of its own nature, so it is unconditioned. The twelve knowledges are those previously mentioned, among which the knowledge that "suffering will not arise later" is knowing suffering. The knowledge of knowing that "afflictions etc. have been abandoned" is knowing the origin. The knowledge that "suffering has ceased" is knowing cessation. The knowledge of realizing cessation through cultivating which path, that is, "suffering has ceased through this path" is knowing the path. Knowing that "desire etc. have been exhausted" is knowing exhaustion. Knowing that "desire etc. will no longer arise" is knowing non-arising. The knowledge of realizing liberation is dharma knowledge. Thinking about impermanence etc. accordingly is following knowledge, that is, the nature of cultivation, the result of cultivation, realizing through cultivation, and obtaining a non-inferior state. With what knowledge, one engages in the realm of desire and in the realm of form in the continuum of conduct, the minds and mental factors of others are truly manifest, and also knowing the unique uncontaminated dharmas, this is called knowing the minds of others. Mundane wisdom is mundane knowledge. Familiarity with the path is the knowledge of complete integration, that is, through it, all the languages of gods, humans, animals, hungry ghosts, hells, and all sentient beings are known, this is the knowledge of sound as it is. The three faculties, that is, because they have supreme dominion over completely purified dharmas, therefore they are the faculties. Not knowing

The faculty that knows all is the faculty that knows all, the faculty of knowing all, the faculty of guarding what is known, the faculty endowed with guarding omniscience, in that order, in the paths of seeing, meditation, and no more learning. Why is it that in the path of seeing, one enters in order to know all that is not known, but in the path of meditation, there is no previously unknown omniscience, but only for the sake of abandoning the remaining subtle habits, one knows all around, and in the path of no more learning, one realizes that one has known all around, which is guarding omniscience, and because it is in this, it is endowed with guarding, or the state of guarding omniscience is in this, so that one obtains the knowledge of exhaustion and non-arising. The faculty that has become such that one knows all my suffering and there is no need to know it again is the faculty that has the state of guarding omniscience. By establishing without distinction, these three paths are the three faculties. The three samadhis are with investigation and with analysis, without investigation but only with analysis, and without investigation and without analysis. The ten recollections are the Buddha, the Dharma, the Sangha, morality, generosity, the gods, disgust, death, the parts of the body, inhalation, and arising. Among these, the Three Jewels are the support. Morality and generosity are the basis. The gods are the faculties. Disgust and the lord of death do not exhale. Belonging to the body
