There is no contradiction. The establishments made by the noble ones do not contradict each other even in dreams, so it is sufficient to explain it extensively. Haven't such aspects of conceptualization been abandoned long ago? Because it is impossible. How can it be said that it should be abandoned in this state of ultimate realization? There is no fault, because in order to enter subtle secrets, and the obscuration of great superknowledge, and even its seeds, are abandoned on the tenth ground, as stated in sutras such as the *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra*. Furthermore, in the *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra*, it says: 'The weak latent predispositions are in the sixth and seventh grounds, holding onto the subtle afflictions that are constantly active. The subtle latent predispositions are in the eighth ground and so on, because there is no constant activity of afflictions at all times, so they only hold onto the basis of the obscuration of knowledge.' Therefore, since the cause of ignorance together with the habitual tendencies mentioned above is cut off, these four types of conceptualizations of the apprehended and the apprehender, which have this cause, must be understood to be abandoned in the peak realization associated with the tenth ground, by the very nature of ultimate realization. Otherwise, it is only occasionally abandoned, as the previous teachers said. Here is the concise meaning: all the conceptualizations of the apprehended and the apprehender mentioned above are entirely caused by perversion, and the nature of that perversion is the manifestation of clinging to things and so on from beginningless time. Therefore, it is only through the object and aspect that are the opposite of this, and the wisdom of fire-like nature that contradicts it, that it is abandoned. If this is abandoned, how can the conceptualizations of the apprehended and the apprehender, which are rooted in it, and so on, remain? For this very reason, in some sutras, the distinctions of the conceptualizations of the apprehended and the apprehender are not established, and in some sutras, only the nine latent predispositions such as desire are established, because it is only by abandoning the ignorance that is the nature of clinging to the appearance of things and non-things that the conceptualizations of the apprehended and so on, which are caused by it, are necessarily abandoned, which is the intention of the sutras.

Therefore, for that very reason, the mind of enlightenment, which is actually contrary to ignorance, must be cultivated by all, and it has been taught in all ways of the Hearer Vehicle, the Perfection Vehicle, and the Secret Mantra Vehicle. As it is said, "The realm of Dharma, unborn and undying, is equal for all beings." and so on, it is taught in the Hearer Vehicle's sutras and so on. The heats and so on, which have already been mentioned as the nature of the faculties and powers, are also the nature of the practice of entering. That is, entering the Great Vehicle and ascending to it. That is also because the meaning is the same, entering is ascending to the Great Vehicle, and ascending is also entering, the name is only one, so the noble ones say. The Bhagavan also said, "Ascending to the Great Vehicle." By saying "This going and going there," at first, by the practice of entering, one enters the Dharma with the nature of cause and effect, and later, by realizing that it is more and more special, one truly ascends. These are two words. Therefore, entering is starting to go, going, and going from the place, etc., as the order says, it is the stage of faith and practice, and from the Joyful stage up to the seventh stage, and the Immovable stage, etc. This is the view of the teacher Vasubandhu, which has been said before. The first is faith, and in the seven stages, it is going with effort, and in the eighth stage and so on, it is only the spontaneously accomplished Great Vehicle. Like a well-attached chariot and so on, this going should be thoroughly accomplished. Therefore, first, the Bodhisattva enters the nature of the Great Vehicle path. There, the various distinctions of the path are the six perfections and the meditation of the aspects of enlightenment and the formless and the liberation and the gradual abiding samadhi and the overcoming birthplaces and the cessation and the samadhi and the wisdom and the faculties and the samadhi and the mindfulness and the immeasurable and, wealth and discrimination and the eyes and the superknowledges and the dharanis and the faculties and the powers and the fearlessness and the individual correct knowledges and the unmixed qualities of the Buddha and so on. Among them, the four meditations are: the first meditation is without the desire of afflictions.
