Therefore, in order to (obtain) faith, diligence, mindfulness, samadhi, and wisdom, which are not of the nature of the senses, one should accumulate roots of virtue that are in accordance with the aspects of liberation. Therefore, being separated from skill in wisdom and means, one will fall into the state of hearers and solitary realizers. As it is also said: "Giving without characteristics, etc., those skilled in authentic practice, in this realization of all aspects, are considered to be in accordance with the aspects of liberation. With the Buddha, etc., as the object, faith arises; with giving, etc., as the field of action, diligence arises; with perfect intention, mindfulness arises; with non-discrimination, samadhi arises; with all aspects of all dharmas, the wisdom of knowing, these are the five aspects. With the sharpness of perfect bodhi, it is easy to realize; with dullness, it is considered difficult to realize." So it is said. The order of faith, etc., is also reasonable, for with faith, one focuses on the object of great joy, and from that, diligence arises. Having initiated diligence, mindfulness is present. When mindfulness is present, the mind enters into equanimity. When the mind is placed in equanimity, one knows things as they truly are. As it is said: "From great joy, joy arises; from joy in the mind, physical pliancy arises; physical pliancy causes one to experience bliss; the mind that has become blissful enters into equanimity; the mind that has entered into equanimity knows things as they truly are." So it is said. Then, what about what the Blessed One said in the middle: "The absence of action of a Bodhisattva is the practice of the Perfection of Wisdom," because all dharmas are without object due to emptiness, therefore there is no action in anything, and that itself is action, which is the nature of the four accomplishments such as armor. How does the first practitioner practice the Perfection of Wisdom? Did not the Blessed One say it in the (sutra) itself? After the Blessed One was asked, "How does the Bodhisattva who is a beginner..." and so on, he finally said, "From the moment of generating the first thought, one should train in the manner of having no object in all dharmas." This indicates that even if a beginner does not have the action of ultimate truth, one should train for that purpose, and training itself is action. Thus the teacher showed.

Homage. Therefore, such as this is the practice of armor for beginners, the conduct of the six perfections, the self-nature of the Prajñāpāramitā. There, for this purpose, to show the object to be sought closely, is the instruction and subsequent indication. By fully guarding the qualities that have been attained, making them not decline, is to take hold closely and instruct. After that, to make the qualities that have not been attained be attained, is to take hold closely and subsequently indicate. Simhabhadra says that in order, at the time of listening, to learn for the sake of holding the scriptures, and for the sake of holding the state of mind, not to forget, and at the time of meditation, to generate what has not been before, these three are necessary. To that, O Bhagavati Mother, with a mind endowed with all-knowingness, not making signs of the perfections, and without an object, this is the very nature of the practice of armor with great armor. It will be in equipoise in all the meditations, and will not taste their flavor. They will not be taken away, nor will they arise from them, because seeing emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness in meditation and so forth, even if abiding, it will not manifest the true limit, therefore, being completely grasped by skillful means with the armor of the Prajñāpāramitā itself, is the nature of Dharma. Because the Buddhas of the ten directions of the world praised and so forth, being completely grasped by a virtuous friend is great. To that, armor is armor and protection, that is, the practice of the Middle Way, the Prajñāpāramitā, in all times and places, in all ways, how to measure, thus subduing others. Just as the royal lineage, some who desire kingship, first put on armor with the joy of desire that benefits this. Then enter, riding on vehicles such as elephants. After that, gather the army. Then, having conquered the discordant side, one will surely go to the places that should be gone to, and obtain the kingdom. After that, having done one's own benefit, that is, with compassion, how to arise reasonably.
