Because it is not other. From the clinging of 'I hold this,' it is also not holding, because it is discriminating in another way towards the object of harm. The body, which is not holding, also clings to being held by this, therefore, how can the nature of holding happiness etc. be established by this? Merely holding happiness etc. as self is also not for the purpose of being an object, because there is no experience of 'I am happy.' All five aggregates are what is cognized, because one sees the clinging to 'I' in the form of 'I am white,' etc. Since all five are objects, the body also belongs to them, therefore it is impossible for it not to be an object. That, whether it is material or non-existent, although it is not holding, but because of clinging, holding cannot be established from clinging. Whatever is clear, clear and happy without relying on others, is knowing, therefore it is only knowing blue etc. As the crest jewel of the logicians said: 'The nature of its blue etc., that nature is also experience. Although it is experience as self-nature, it is said that blue etc. is experience.' Thus it is said. Blue etc. is known only by the emptiness of the nature of one and many, and that is also it, therefore how can the reason be unestablished? Even so, is it not that the reason is unestablished in one aspect? Thus, the knowledge of blue etc. and happiness etc. is also a subject. Among them, emptiness by the nature of one and many is established for blue etc., but not for happiness etc., because that is without a body. This is not existent, because it cannot be denied that it appears pervasive to the object, because one experiences that as many limbs of fatigue sink into the water, so much pervasive happiness arises, and such experience is also not said to be not pervasive to the object, because the body is also the same. Since pervasiveness to the object is the same, like the body, here also it is because it has a body. Applying sandalwood and thorns, and following the arrangement of dragging, the experience of happiness etc. focused on this is established, how can it not be embodied? Furthermore, those that are the basis of clinging to self, the form that is not the basis of clinging to self

It should be allowed to be different from happiness and so on. Being different from the body, which is the object of clinging, is merely an object of hope in the mind. Happiness and so on do not appear to be different from the body. If so, the body itself is not mind. Even if it is established, it should not be said that doubt arises about the appearance of mind. In order to eliminate the elements as sentient beings, it should be said: If the elements experienced in one's own body are not different from mind, then when the elements are directly perceived, mind should also be directly perceived, so there would be no doubt about the object of mind. Here, if one understands that happiness and so on are not different from the body whose nature is consciousness, then it is unreasonable to harm it. According to the view of the Vijnanavada school, since the body of another is not clung to by another, the reason with specificity is not established. It is unreasonable to be not different from the body that has a body, because then it would be without a body. Therefore, it is inevitable that it is not established on one part of the subject. Furthermore, knowledge with aspects should be made the subject, and pervasive non-apprehension should be established. Even so, how can it be not established on the part? Then, how can it be said that the non-aspectual knowledge of happiness and so on is untrue? Whatever has an untrue cause is untrue, like a sprout. Happiness and so on also have an untrue cause, which is a nature reason. Since the body is untrue and happiness and so on are its cause, the reason is not unestablished. If it is said that happiness and so on are the cause of previous consciousness, not the cause of the body, that is not correct, because the change of the body and the happiness and so on that follow can be seen. If there are assisting conditions such as the eye, it appears that happiness such as pleasantness arising from the eye arises, and if there are no such assisting conditions, it does not appear. If it is said that the eye and so on do not help happiness and so on, but rather the consciousness that appears there, then if the consciousness that appears there helps, then they will certainly help. Their characteristic of helping is only that they must be present when producing happiness and so on.
