Furthermore, it abides by refraining from killing. There are three aspects to thought: namely, desire, the desire to cause others to act, and satisfaction with what others have done. There are also three aspects to exhortation: namely, urging to enter, definitely combining, and allowing. There are three aspects to abiding by: namely, accomplishing with the body, accomplishing with speech, and accomplishing with the mind. It should be appropriately stated as before. Furthermore, it is said: Refraining, thought, and exhortation, and their accomplishment, each has three aspects. Thus it is said. Similarly, it should be applied to lying and so forth. Furthermore, in another way, there are four aspects to refraining from killing: namely, taking a firm vow to refrain from killing, causing others to abide in refraining from killing, allowing others to refrain from killing, and completely abandoning killing oneself, such as avoiding dripping water, and saving beings from acts that sustain life, and so forth. Similarly, it should also be said to take a firm vow to refrain from leftovers, causing others to abide, allowing, and especially practicing. Thus, these four sets of eight branches become thirty-two precepts. This is to say that the thirty-two antidotes born from the degeneration of nature itself, and the thirty-two antidotes for livelihood, these two sets of thirty-two, are sixty-four precepts. From all the precepts, what arises immediately after that increases day and night. Until one has not abandoned them, and so forth, as mentioned before. If one takes those precepts with a virtuous mind, then it becomes virtuous and arises day and night. If one takes them with a non-defiled mind, then it becomes non-defiled and arises day and night. So, how is the precept of giving? It should be said thus: By giving with a virtuous mind, the precept of the body itself arises. Starting from completely giving away what is given, until completely...

Following after enjoyment is merit, and it is virtue itself. The vows of virtue increase moment by moment. Those are also gathered by turning away from not gathering discipline with the body. Furthermore, the giving without substantial afflictions arises, from which complete enjoyment arises. When the giver enjoys, it is said to become virtuous. Among them, there are three types of giving: giving of material goods, giving of fearlessness, and giving of Dharma. Among them, the giving of material goods is giving food and drink, etc. The giving of fearlessness is completely protecting those afflicted by fear and turning away from the cause of fear. The giving of Dharma is showing the Dharma of higher realms and definite goodness for the benefit of others with a virtuous mind. Among them, the giving of fearlessness and the giving of Dharma will become virtuous, or will become a non-obstructive prophecy. From that virtue, the vows and what arises day and night are virtuous. From the non-obstructive prophecy, the vows and what arises day and night are the non-obstructive prophecy. The giving of material goods is also entirely virtuous with the vows. From that, following after complete enjoyment is also merit, virtue itself increases closely, through twelve causes, following after complete enjoyment, merit will not increase, namely: giving during universal enjoyment, giving for the sake of liberation from bonds, etc., generating vows at the appropriate time, enjoying oneself, wrongly enjoying, enjoying without permission, completely enjoying, letting others enjoy, plundering, completely cutting off the roots of virtue, going towards detachment, and death. The actions with outflows have been explained. Actions without outflows are of three types, namely: the discipline of the path, the discipline of the antidote, and the discipline of vows. The discipline of the path is: the actions that manifest will arise, the desire realm or the form realm.

Moreover, all arising is the mind of the limbs of enlightenment. By knowing the Dharma in suffering, one eliminates ten latent tendencies and twenty non-latent tendencies, thus completely eliminating thirty afflictions. For each of those afflictions, one should make sixteen kinds of evil-conduct beings who are encompassed by desire. That is, as it is said, killing and so on, eight arising from the destruction of their own nature, and eight causes of livelihood, thus becoming sixteen kinds. When those are completely abandoned, again, saying that those should not be done, from abandoning those, sixteen kinds of precepts arise, that is, like this, eight antidotes arising from the destruction of their own nature, and eight antidotes for livelihood. Likewise, each affliction should be understood. In this way, the sixteen kinds of evil conduct are also abandoned, this is one of the sixteenth. Moreover, by the antidote to the misdeeds produced by each affliction, by the power of abandoning afflictions, it is thirty of the sixteenth. Thirty-one precepts of the path arise, thus, the precepts of the path become ninety-six plus four hundred. Likewise, it is also the same for the wisdom of individually discerning suffering. For the one who recollects suffering, there are nine latent tendencies encompassed by form and eleven non-latent tendencies, that is, completely abandoning twenty afflictions. There, two kinds of near-conduct arise for each affliction, that is, like this, uncollected and incoherent speech. The kind previously spoken, abandoning two sets of misdeeds, this is one. The antidote to two sets of twenty misdeeds is twenty sets of two, and two sets of twenty-one vows arise. Likewise, in the remaining wisdom and meditation grounds, etc., it should be explained appropriately. The antidote precepts are: wherever and wherever all afflictions of the same realm and the same share are abandoned, in that and that place, continuity and actions done arise closely. Moreover, the wisdom of the destroyer of afflictions, like the precepts of the path in knowing the Dharma in suffering and so on, and in the meditation grounds and so on, should all be understood appropriately. The precepts of discipline are all without outflows, that is, of an Arhat. Like this
