O! Craving associated with the view of permanence is the craving for existence. Craving associated with the view of annihilation is the existence of non-existence. This is called the noble truth of the origin of suffering. What is the noble truth of the cessation of suffering? It is when that craving itself is completely and without remainder dispassionate, ceases, is abandoned, is completely abandoned, is liberated, and is without a place. This is called the noble truth of the cessation of suffering. What is the noble truth of the path leading to the cessation of suffering? This is the eightfold noble path, namely: right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration. Among these, what is right view? It is the knowledge of the four truths. What is right thought? It is the universal thought of virtue. What is right speech? It is abstaining from the four faults of speech. What is right action? It is abstaining from the three faults of body. What is right livelihood? It is abstaining from wrong livelihood. What is right effort? It is the four right exertions. What is right mindfulness? It is the four close placements of mindfulness. What is right concentration? It is the four dhyanas. Furthermore, by cultivating these noble paths, seeing the wisdom of nirvana through karma, this is right view. Differentiating thought about nirvana itself is right thought. Abandoning wrong speech about it is right speech. Abandoning wrong action about it is right action. Abandoning wrong livelihood about it is right livelihood. Diligence towards it is right effort. Mindfulness of nirvana itself is right mindfulness. One-pointedness of mind on nirvana itself is right concentration. Furthermore, the faculty of wisdom, the power of wisdom, the foot of miraculous power of discernment, and the branch of perfect enlightenment that distinguishes dharmas are included within right view. The faculty of diligence, the power of diligence, the foot of miraculous power of diligence, and
