It is shown. Furthermore, that which shows the nature of self-entity is the showing of aggregates. That which shows the object of entities is the showing of sources. That which shows the arising of the determination of the object of entities is the showing of elements. Whoever is skilled in the establishment of knowing the elements of those aspects is called skilled in elements. The thirteenth chapter of the determination of aggregates, sources, and elements according to the tradition of the Sthavira school, from the determination of conditioned and unconditioned phenomena compiled by the great scholar Ten Powers Glorious Friend. || Skilled in dependent origination is as follows: Conditioned by ignorance is action, conditioned by action is consciousness, conditioned by consciousness is name and form, conditioned by name and form are the six sources, conditioned by the six sources is contact, conditioned by contact is feeling, conditioned by feeling is craving, conditioned by craving is grasping, conditioned by grasping is existence, conditioned by existence is birth, conditioned by birth arise old age, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, displeasure, and agitation. Thus, the entire great mass of suffering arises, which is the arising in order. When ignorance ceases, action ceases. When action ceases, consciousness ceases. When consciousness ceases, name and form cease. When name and form cease, the six sources cease. When the six sources cease, contact ceases. When contact ceases, feeling ceases. When feeling ceases, craving ceases. When craving ceases, grasping ceases. When grasping ceases, existence ceases. When existence ceases, birth ceases. When birth ceases, old age, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, displeasure, and agitation cease. Thus, the entire great mass of suffering ceases, which is the cessation in reverse order. Therein, not knowing the four truths is ignorance. The actions of body, speech, and mind are action. The mind at the time of connection is consciousness. The mind and

The dharma arising from the mind with qualities is name. What is manifest is form, that is, name and form. The six internal sources of self are the six sources. The collection of six contacts is contact. The collection of six feelings is feeling. The collection of six cravings is craving. The four graspings are grasping. The karma that produces desire existence, form existence, and formless existence is craving. The arising of aggregates in existence is birth. The complete ripening of aggregates is aging. The destruction of aggregates is death. Here it is said, from the condition of ignorance there is action, and from the condition of birth, there is aging and death. Where does this come from? It should be said that here, ordinary beings who do not have learning, do not understand the four truths. From a long time, they cling to the five aggregates of grasping as self, thinking, "These are mine. I am here, this is mine, I am me." They cling to existence in the same way, so they universally arise in existence, and they discriminate the sources of existence, and then they lie down. Their minds, discriminations, and latent tendencies arise from completely not understanding things, and in order to obtain existence, they abide in existence. It is like planting good seeds in moist soil. They do not have the wisdom of the cessation of existence. Therefore, from the condition of ignorance, there is action. Those actions created by not understanding, the mind that manifests action, because of liking existence, enters into existence. The sign of existence increases as the object of focus, so it produces the consciousness that connects with the completely transformed existence. Their mind of certain existence is not cut off. Therefore, from the condition of action, there is consciousness. For example, without the sun, it is impossible for rays of light to abide or move on the earth. Similarly, without consciousness, it is impossible for name and form to enter or grow in the womb. The reason for the aggregates of nāda is that they are mutually dependent. Therefore, from the condition of consciousness, there are name and form. The source of mind depends on things, together with name.

arise and cease. Furthermore, the five sense bases arise together with name, relying on the great arising, and arise and cease due to the conditions of food and time. It is not possible without that condition. Therefore, from name and form arise the six sense bases. Because contact arises from the aggregation of faculties, objects, and consciousness, therefore, the condition for contact is the six sense bases. Having contacted, one experiences pleasure, pain, or neither pleasure nor pain. It is not possible without contact. Therefore, the condition for feeling is contact. Foolish beings, having experienced pleasure, become attached and repeatedly seek those pleasures. When experiencing suffering, they also seek the pleasure that will extinguish suffering. When experiencing neither pleasure nor pain, they become even more attached and feel it. Therefore, the condition for feeling is craving. Attachment to feeling is craving. Firmly grasping onto objects. Therefore, the condition for craving is grasping. Actions done with grasping become the seeds of existence. Therefore, the condition for grasping is existence. According to the differences in karma, beings will be born in various realms. Therefore, the condition for existence is birth. Having been born, one will age and die. Therefore, the condition for birth is aging and death. Another analogy is: for example, like chaff and seed, ignorance is action. For example, like a container, seed, and sprout, action and consciousness. For example, like a sprout and leaves, consciousness and name and form. For example, like leaves and a trunk, name and form and the six sense bases. For example, like a trunk and branches, the six sense bases and contact. For example, like branches and flowers, contact and feeling. For example, like flowers and buds, feeling and craving. For example, like buds and fruit, craving and grasping. For example, like fruit and seed, grasping and existence. For example, like seed and sprout, existence and birth. "Condition" refers to everything. For example, in that way, observe the preceding continuity of the seed.
