The realm, the realm of fire, the realm of wind, the realm of water, hardness, softness, warmth, and coolness, which are the scope of the body's activity. The source of mind is the realm of the seven consciousnesses. The source of dharma is the three non-material aggregates, the ten subtle forms, and Nirvana. These are the twelve sources, etc., extensively explained. The wisdom that understands the sources of those kinds is called understanding the sources. What is understanding the realms? It is the eighteen realms, as follows: the realm of the eye, the realm of form, the realm of eye consciousness, the realm of the ear, the realm of sound, the realm of ear consciousness, the realm of the nose, the realm of smell, the realm of nose consciousness, the realm of the tongue, the realm of taste, the realm of tongue consciousness, the realm of the body, the realm of touch, the realm of body consciousness, the realm of mind, the realm of dharma, and the realm of mind consciousness, etc., extensively explained. Here, what is the difference in teaching through the aggregates, sources, and realms? It should be said that explaining the nature of gathering similar phenomena is explaining the aggregates. Explaining the nature of the gate is explaining the sources. Explaining the nature of one's own essence is explaining the realms. Or, the Bhagavan, in a general way, causes the person who can understand to realize the truth of suffering through the way of the aggregates. He shows the truth of suffering through the way of the sources to the person who can understand extensively. He causes the person who clings to words to realize the truth of suffering through the way of the realms. Or, for the person who clings to the non-material aggregates as pleasurable, he briefly shows form and distinguishes the non-material aggregates, thereby showing the aggregates. For the person who clings to form as pleasurable, he extensively distinguishes form and briefly summarizes the non-material aggregates, thereby showing the sources. For the person who clings to both form and non-material aggregates as pleasurable, he extensively distinguishes form and non-material aggregates, thereby showing the realms.
