The nature of meditation is the essence of the antidote to seeing self, the path that connects to the world, and the roots of virtue that correspond to the part of discernment, which change according to their appearance. For example, just as there is warmth before the fire of friction, before the fire of transcendence, the nature of the sixteen aspects of the four noble truths is warmth, and then, similar to that, as the head of the moving roots of virtue, it reaches the peak, and then, because it endures everything, it is patience, and then, because it is the peak of all worldly things, it is the supreme dharma. Among them, the nature of warmth and peak, the five: faith, diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom, are powers because they are obtained as masters for generating transcendental dharma. Because the uncertain higher dharma arises from seeing the signs associated with the magical feet, and because there is great faith in the teacher's superior realization, it is the power of faith. From the excess of faith, diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom increase. The practice of these five powers is so developed that demons and others cannot overcome them, and because they are not to be harmed, they are given the name "strength." These strengths are the nature of patience and the supreme dharma. After that, the path of seeing arises, and because it is without outflows, it is the noble path, the transcendental path, which eradicates the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing from their roots. For example, as the patience of knowing the dharma of suffering arises, it cuts off the ten obstacles of suffering that operate in desire: desire, anger, pride, ignorance, doubt, view of the perishable collection, extreme view, wrong view, holding views as supreme, and holding morality and asceticism as supreme. Then, the attainment that does not correspond to affliction arises together with the knowledge of the dharma of suffering. After that, when the patience of knowing the sequence of suffering arises, except for anger, it cuts off the nine obstacles of the truth of suffering that operate in the form realm, and the nine obstacles of suffering that operate in the formless realm, that is, the eighteen predispositions.
