The Bodhisattva's collection also has three aspects: the Sutra Pitaka, the Vinaya Pitaka, and the Abhidharma Pitaka. These three collections of teachings become the nine divisions of scripture: Sutras, Songs, Predictions, Gathas, Self-utterances, Causes, Parables, Accounts of past lives, and Discourses. Alternatively, there are twelve divisions: Sutras, Songs, Predictions, Gathas, Self-utterances, Causes, Parables, Accounts of past lives, Birth stories, Extensive teachings, Wonderful Dharmas, and Definitive teachings. Again, there are five aspects: Gathas, Abhidharma, Vinaya, Sutras, and Matrikas. The voice of the Tathagatas is endowed with sixty qualities. Thus, the sixty qualities of the voice spoken of in the Secret Sutra of the Tathagatas are: the sweet and pleasant speech of the Tathagatas, which increases the roots of virtue in sentient beings, is gentle with the touch of bliss in this very life; pleasing because of its good meaning; satisfying because of its good words; pure because it attains the unsurpassed state beyond the world; stainless because it is free from the habitual tendencies of afflictions; clear because its words are clear and understandable; possessing strength and qualities because it completely refutes the evil views of all non-Buddhists, pleasing to the ear; worthy of listening because it definitely brings forth the nature of practice; unconquerable because it cannot be overcome by all other opponents; pleasing because it causes joy; tamed because it is the antidote to desire; not rough because the precepts are skillful means; because of respect for the precepts,
