When a single sentient being arises in hell, then this world is formed, that is, the formation of sentient beings. Nineteen intermediate kalpas. From then on, the formation remains for twenty intermediate kalpas. Here, the people of the first kalpa who transmigrated from the Clear Light heaven dwell as if practicing form, possessing the nature of mind, endowed with their own light, traveling everywhere in the sky, and having joy as their food. They smell the scent of the earth, taste the flavor of the earth, and become eaters. Their bodies are oppressed by hardness, roughness, and heaviness, and their light also disappears. Then, in the state of becoming darkness, the sun and moon appear. First, the essence of the earth is in the form of grease, then the essence of the earth is like curd, and after that, the forests of the essence of the earth gradually appear. They disappear due to extreme attachment. Immediately, unplowed and unsown rice with a fragrant scent and a pleasant taste grows. After that, due to the influence of previous habits, improper attention, and the extreme increase of attachment to desire, the males and females become mutually attached, thus producing non-celibacy, that is, the male.
