It is merely abandonment. The afflictions to be abandoned by the meditation practiced in the formless realm are not capable of abandoning afflictions. Because the Dharma is such. It is a good custom to establish that the abandonment of the three realms is by the noble path. This is how the Shravakas' path of meditation abandons afflictions. The Pratyekabuddha Vehicle also abandons the afflictions to be abandoned by the meditation practiced in the desire realm and form realm of external paths. After abandoning the afflictions abandoned by the path of seeing, they abandon the practices in the formless realm by the noble path, and thus realize the Bodhi of the Pratyekabuddha. The great Bodhisattvas, having practiced the six Paramitas for three countless eons, accumulated the collections of merit and wisdom, and having stayed in Tushita and so on, entered the Bodhi tree essence, subdued the demons of the sons of the gods, and having seen the dependent origination that is in accordance and not in accordance with the Dharma, having perfected the practice of patience and so on, having abandoned the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing of the three realms, in the thirteenth mind, having abandoned the afflictions to be abandoned by the meditation practiced in the desire realm, they are separated from the desire of the desire realm. In the fourteenth mind, having abandoned the afflictions to be abandoned by the meditation practiced in the form realm, they are separated from attachment to form. In the fifteenth mind, having abandoned the afflictions to be abandoned by the meditation practiced in the formless realm, they are separated from attachment to the formless realm. The sixteenth mind is the path to be cultivated. The state of no more learning is the state of fruition, that is, the mind that has obtained all the distinctions of realization, having obtained the state of Arhat. By accomplishing all of that, one becomes a perfectly complete Buddha. It is said that the four minds of the twelfth and thirteenth Abhisamaya knowledges, that is, the sixteen minds, abide in the state of Buddhahood. Furthermore, it is said: "The Samadhi of the Tathagata, the nature of the Vajra-like mind, although it can abandon all outflows, it is not possible, therefore it is not abandoned by that." This is what is said. The meaning of this is that the one who possesses the Vajra-like Samadhi is the Tathagata. The nature of the mind means the Vajra.

Oh, the part of the mind's arising that possesses samadhi like a vajra! All "leaks" refer to afflictions. "Ability" refers to function. "Not by that" means although it is so, it does not abandon. From where? Because it is impossible. Then what is the meaning of impossible? It is said: Because of the habituation of others not being others, One's non-abandonment of two realms, Unequal division, because of that, Buddha's sixteen moments themselves. Thus it is said. The meaning of this is, from where, it is impossible for others to abandon. Therefore, although the Bhagavan has the ability, it is impossible to eliminate afflictions through the continuum of others. Then, can one part of the mind eliminate one's own continuum? It is said: Because of habituation, it is impossible for one to abandon two realms. From where, even if it is habituation, it is impossible for one mind to abandon what should be abandoned by the cultivation of two realms. Similarly, the divisions of the path of cultivation are not equal, that is, it is impossible to abandon the afflictions that should be abandoned by the path of seeing. "Therefore" refers to the reason of impossibility. The Buddha himself is sixteen moments, not the meaning of thirteen. Then, are the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing also abandoned by external paths? It is said: The noble ones abandon what should be abandoned by cultivation, both the two paths and what is included in the desire realm and what is included in the form realm. Non-noble ones also abandon what should be abandoned by cultivation, what is included in the desire realm of external paths and what is included in the form realm. What is included in the formless realm is not, because that is abandoned by the noble path itself. Then, what is the difference in aspects between external and noble paths? It is said: The aspects of peace and coarseness are external paths. Like this, "The desire realm is coarse" is the coarse aspect. "The form realm is peaceful" is the peaceful aspect, and so on, external paths have many aspects. The noble path has four aspects, namely: the aspect of impermanence, the aspect of suffering, the aspect of non-self, and the aspect of liberation. This has already been explained in detail there immediately. Again, faith, etc.
