I say "I am also without," which means that it is not emptiness. Where emptiness is indicated by the sound of Dharma, Dharma-nature is not other than the possessor of Dharma. Now, in order to show the absence of limit, it is said "its entity" and so on, in order to avoid the distraction of clinging to the extreme of entities, its emptiness should be understood as the absence of entities. In order to avoid the distraction of clinging to the extreme of the absence of entities, the term is meaningful, and it should also be known to exist conventionally. If the ultimate truth is realized, what is existent and non-existent in phenomena that are without inherent existence? It is said, meaning that there are no two extremes. Since there is no combination of existence and non-existence, it does not arise, and in order to show that nothing should be formed into an image, "You remember" and so on are said. For example, if someone is told, "Do not remember," it means, "You remember this thing." Therefore, negation and distinction are entities, because they do not arise without existence, so they are remembered by supreme discernment with the mind. Thus, by the sound of "thusness-absence," it is understood as existence because it does not arise without existence. Therefore, abandoning the two kinds of conceptualization of existence and non-existence should be known as the Middle Way. If what is to be negated is established as not arising, then is it also established that what is imputed by the power of entities exists? "Discrimination" and so on are said, discrimination is from the discrimination of sound, by the power of habit, knowing things from discrimination is the arising of the consciousness of memory. Discrimination also arises from the wisdom of things, that is, it arises from that. Both are the Dharma of discrimination, because the discriminations of sound and things are the Dharma of discrimination, which is the meaning of "What is existent and what is non-existent." In order to show that one should not investigate even the discrimination of non-existence, "What is the basis" and so on are said, what is the basis is the imputed and so on, even emptiness, by meditating, because it does not arise without existence, it becomes existence and goes. If one desires it in that way, then at that time one will also obtain such existence, here

Just as meditating on non-existence can transform it into existence, existence itself, through meditation, will not arise if non-existence is not present; therefore, non-existence is also attained. All of these become existent by taking from the objects of complete imputation. When complete imputation is always absent, then, because there is no basis, the dependent is not existent. Now, in order to summarize, it is stated, "Thus existent," and so forth. In this way, existence and non-existence, happiness and suffering, and so on, are considered non-existent; this is the meaning of the non-existence of things. Because whatever little exists, all of that is established by dependence; this is the meaning of being born. What is this like? Like the distinctions of long and short, and so on. It is stated, "Long and short, and so on." In this way, if there is no short, the nature of long cannot be established; and if there is no long, short is also the same. Similarly, it is stated, "Person," and so on. In this way, a person is people, and the cessation of suffering is called happiness, which is imputed by one's own conceptual thought. The disappearance of happiness is suffering; therefore, these two are dependent. It is stated, "Dependence itself," and so on. This means that one should understand that through the reasoning of happiness and suffering, and so on, the nature of gross and subtle, and so on, arises entirely from dependence. Like this: Without depending on the one alone, others cannot be understood; it will not become a meaning that both can be understood. This will be shown in this way: Without dependence, there is no object that exists solely by itself. Otherwise, everything would become permanent. In this way, by preventing the distraction of conceptual thoughts about things and non-things, it is shown that the nature of the non-duality of mind is the Middle Way. In this way, in order to widely refute names and conceptual thoughts, it is stated, "Eliminating others," and so on. Eliminating others is eliminating dissimilar kinds. Without analyzing the object of activity, that is, without analyzing the object of activity of one's own characteristic. Through establishing the teachings, and so on, that is, through the causes of verbal expression, hearing, and recollection, and so on, some will generate correct delusion, that is, the general characteristic of the non-existence of things.
