One will attain the state of being the object and the subject. These two should not be considered as the object and the subject, for in this way, only the object of the condition of focus is the nature. However, that is also unreasonable because it has ceased and has been a long time. The immediately ceased is not the condition of focus because it is its immediate subsequent condition; otherwise, the eye faculty would also become a condition. Since the second moment does not exist, how can it become the object? This is the meaning. Furthermore, attaining the state of grossness is the meaning of investigation. Although it is so, because it holds the minds of others simultaneously, it becomes its object. Having mentioned "others," etc., the objects such as the minds of others, whatever is known in the Yogācārabhūmi, that is not just consciousness, but it is non-consciousness. What is it like? Having mentioned "as desired by one's own mind," thus, one's own self, the mind of one's own self thinking of understanding the past is arrogance. This is also the same meaning. Furthermore, having said "holds simultaneously," in response to that, how can it be simultaneous if it is not momentary? Furthermore, because the minds of others are non-dual, how can that be the nature of the object? Non-dual consciousness is not just one side, because it is all-pervasive. Thus, because it is said that it abides in mind-only. Thus, if there is no external object, because there is no grasper and grasped, therefore, saying that the non-dual mind itself is ungraspable is not the meaning of establishing the ultimate nature. If it is not to be said, but to grasp the ultimate, then how does the Blessed One teach, and are the Bodhisattvas not holding? In all conventional truth wisdom. Having said "etc.," in all consciousness that slightly possesses conventionality, the wise and others, on the grasped and the grasper, only the same will do, it is not not the same. It is not ultimate wisdom, because that is inexpressible. It will be taught in this way, teaching with conventionality.

And, it is used in the words to be explained, but it is not the ultimate meaning. Now, in order to show the yogis the fruit of appearance by seeing the selflessness of phenomena, it is said that emptiness and so on. The first is to say in the previous. All phenomena are empty of external form and so on, when that very reality is seen to arise. It is not only the invisible fruit, but any appearance is only a great fruit, not arising from that. Because of seeing the selflessness of phenomena, this yogi who has obtained fearlessness is not fearless like other worlds, but is fearless like samsarins, that is the meaning. If one sees emptiness again, is it not that one has not transcended the law of death? If so, how can one become fearless? It is said that death and so on. Any self's death and birth, like an illusion, is considered like an illusory person, and for him, how can there be no fear of death in any way, that is the meaning. If there is fear even in obtaining the path, then will the seeker of the path regress? It is said that "these are the illusions of karma" and so on. Any yogi who abides on the path of seeing thinks that these are the illusions of karma, and are not established by their own nature, and also knows these three grounds. If there is fear again, if it is like the fear of the suffering of samsarins, we have not seen that reality, wanting to cut it off with this path, because the labor has no fruit, it is the meaning of regression. In order to show that it is unreasonable for a yogi who abides on the path of seeing to think that he has regressed, it is said that "the supreme limb" and so on. Like this, the supreme limb is, the second head, and likewise the third eye, because it does not exist. If those two do not exist, then who would doubt being cut off and pulled out? Similarly, the yogi who abides on the path of seeing, because he does not exist by the nature of pervasive discrimination, how can he doubt being harmed by that suffering, that is the meaning. Like this, abiding on the path of seeing, he abandons the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing.

Therefore, the afflictions to be abandoned by cultivation have not been abandoned. For the sake of showing that. Thus, the intelligent one should understand this realm. Thus, and so on, it is said. Thus, it is in the order previously spoken. This realm should be understood as understanding without external meaning. The intelligent one is the wise one. If again, remaining impurities are mixed, even by cultivation. 'Remaining' refers to earth and so on. That itself is impurity, the remaining impurities. 'Mixed' means mixed together. 'Even by cultivation' means to subdue with power. Likewise, also because of extreme purity, the defilement of afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing is never tainted with defilement, meaning it does not transform. How is it? Like saying 'a piece of cloud' and so on. How is space space? A piece of cloud, because the part of the cloud is impure, it does not transform into a tainted nature. Likewise, the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing do not exist for the intelligent one. If objects such as form are completely non-existent in every way, how does the consciousness with the aspect of determining the meaning, such as 'this is that,' arise? Here, it is said, 'here is much,' and so on. 'Here' means, what is the use of saying much in the previous section? If a dog, a rabbit, and a horse
