It will not become the general characteristic of actions, nor will the nature of ultimate truth become actions that are merely selfless and merely without inherent existence. It will also not become the nature of defilement and purification, with each characteristic being established simultaneously. Therefore, the nature of ultimate truth, like the whiteness of conch shells, etc., is neither the same as nor different from actions, and is unspeakable. It is said as such. Only for things, there exists the distinction of being the same and different. The general characteristic of ultimate truth is that, because things have no inherent existence, it is only unspeakable as being the same or different. If things exist, then it is possible to distinguish them as the same and different. For those without the inherent existence of things, this is impossible, so there is no contradiction. The ultimate truth of the nature of wisdom is also only considered to be the same form of the ultimate truth of the nature of suchness, together with the conventional. As it is said in the Noble Perfection of Wisdom Sutra: "Bhagavan, what is conventional? Is the conventional of the world also different? Is the ultimate truth also different?" The Bhagavan said: "Subhuti, the conventional of the world is also different, but the ultimate truth is not different. Whatever is the suchness of the conventional of the world, that is the suchness of the ultimate truth." The ultimate truth of the nature of wisdom is also the nature of true conventional because it is no different from illusion, etc., and it is also the nature of ultimate truth because it is in accordance with the realization of suchness. Therefore, due to the difference in perspective, it is not contradictory for one to have the nature of both. Furthermore, as you say, it is difficult to accomplish the complete accumulation of merit and wisdom, etc., which is also unreasonable, because one can understand the complete accumulation of merit by relying solely on this view. In this way, giving, etc., which are motivated by the correct view, arise only from a completely pure cause, and therefore will produce extraordinary results and the fulfillment of wishes. However, if motivated by a perverse view, it is not so.

It is not so. It is like the branches of discipline, etc., that are aroused by wrong views. Ultimately, since there are no real things like generosity, etc., focusing on them is only a reversal, like focusing on water in a mirage. Therefore, all the actions of the perfections that are aroused by it are also like generosity, etc., that are aroused by the reversal of self and what belongs to self, and because they are aroused by an impure cause, they are very weak. Non-apprehension, in which generosity, etc., become objects of focus, is not reversed, like not focusing on water in a mirage, because it is the object of true meaning. Therefore, generosity, etc., that are aroused by it will also become great fruits, because they are aroused by a great cause, like sprouts, etc., that are accomplished by healthy seeds. For that very reason, generosity, etc., that rely correctly on non-apprehension are aroused by correct views, so wise people will generate great joy, but others will not. If one does not engage in generosity, etc., and therefore becomes without merit, it is not that the objects of generosity, etc., are completely non-existent, because everything exists in conventional truth. It is also not that one does not apprehend at all times, because one apprehends them like illusions when one is not in a state of meditative absorption. At that time, non-apprehension arising from aspiration is established. Thus, the Blessed One said, 'Blessed One, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva skillfully give generosity and fully uphold the Perfection of Wisdom?' The Blessed One said, 'Subhuti, here, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva gives generosity and fully gives generosity, only the thought of illusion abides near generosity.' Thus he spoke extensively. Therefore, the Blessed One, having become a Bodhisattva, for those who seek meaning through aspiration for illusion, etc., it is not contradictory to completely give away sons, etc. In the state of equipoise, generosity, etc., are only completely non-apprehended. At that time
