Those makers also admit that consciousness is the object of many things. Those who admit that the object is only the nature of courage, dust, and darkness also only admit that the object of consciousness is the nature of many things, because they admit that the object is the nature of three things. Those who say that the consciousness of mind is the object of the past, etc., is only without an object, according to those people's views, because it has the appearance of a name, so that one appearance is unreasonable, because it appears as the nature of many letters. Consciousness of dreams, etc., is also unreasonable to be one nature, because it is experienced as appearing in various forms such as blue, etc. Those who speak of consciousness only as nature, who admit that all consciousness is not the object of the external reality, because it is self-aware, so it is ultimate, they also admit that due to the power of the completely matured habits of beginningless misperception, all consciousness arises and appears as various inversions such as form, etc., so consciousness is not admitted to be one nature. Therefore, consciousness is not established as one nature in any view. If it is not established, then nature is also not established, as mentioned before. For this reason, it is not the case that the reason is not established even when establishing with one's own continuum, as the reason mentioned above, for both the opponent and the refuter, all phenomena are merely established as being free from one and many. For what is merely a distinction, it is unreasonable to be a real thing that is to be established, established, and in accordance with the subject, as has been shown before. Therefore, for those who abide in their own and others' doctrines, the dharma that is closely examined is also established for both parties, as mentioned above, merely by the dharma of distinction. Furthermore, how is this reason established? If it is established through the means of non-apprehension, then that non-apprehension is also established from another non-apprehension, which would entail an infinite regress. It is also not established that non-apprehension is established through the means of direct perception,

E, saying "that is because it is not its object" is also refuted. Because in the manner described above, the reason is well established. Thus, for the time being, all those that are not deceived by the senses, such as myself, are only well established as being separate from one and many, because it is admitted that they are pervaded by and connected to the sequential fruits and so on. If the subject itself is not established, if one thinks, "For whom is this separation established?" That is not reasonable, because for the negation of such a thing, it is only the subject that is examined in all cases, because it has already been explained that it is only the non-perception of its dharma. If it is not so, then how can you not be subject to the criticism that "the reason does not have the characteristic of being able to function" for that negation? Because others only admit such a sequential fruit for the imputed subject, therefore, relying on the rule of establishing the dharma that pervades it, the subject is imputed. Even if it is understood through inference, it is not an infinite regression, because those are not valid cognitions themselves. Because it has already been said that through convention, the pervasion is also established for the establishment. All those subjects, such as form, that are not hidden are also only direct perception that is separate from one self-nature, because these always appear in various forms, so there is no separate experience of one self-nature without distinction. If separation from one self-nature is established, then separation from many self-natures is also established only by direct perception, because many themselves are the nature of a collection. It has already been explained that through convention, direct perception and so on are not valid cognitions, nor are they non-existent. However, whatever does not exist in the ultimate sense does not exist in the conventional sense either, nor is there any slight experience, such as a rabbit's horn. If one thinks that direct perception is also the same as that, then it has already been answered, because in this way, since there is no connection, this reason is uncertain. If it is assumed to be fabricated
