If one thinks it is only so, that is also unreasonable. Because each of the collective things becomes a cause, so depending on the collection is also only depending on each one. Therefore, if the causes are not different, then the similar and dissimilar results will not become different. If someone asks, 'The difference of causes will not make it different,' what is the meaning of this refutation? If its meaning is 'it will not produce parts,' then, since the nature of things has no parts, therefore it is not desired to produce parts, how can it be a refutation? Because its definition is not wanting. If it is said that its meaning is 'it will not become a difference,' then this is not established. Because the causes will produce things that are contrary to many different kinds of things. If it is said like this, it is unreasonable. Saying that the refutation 'for one thing, it will not become producing parts' is not established. However, the difference that you think is caused by the mutual opposition between things is caused by many causes. If here many causes are admitted, but many results are not admitted, then, due to confusion, the difference between things will not be caused by many causes, this is the refutation. Also, to say that the nature of those things that are opposed from many different kinds of things is the difference of the result is also irrelevant. For example, if they only become different by themselves, thereby producing special fruits, then that which makes them contrary to different kinds of things will also produce similar moments, thereby making them contrary. In this way, the similar and dissimilar fruits produced by it will not be mutually opposed, because there is no different cause that makes them opposed. If it is said that those causes are each the nature of making them opposed, therefore they will produce differences in similar fruits, then, in this case, similarly, what will they do for the common fruit?

It is not to make it different, because for this, all things are each the cause. Other things that are contrary to the nature of generating one will not become generators, because it is contrary to the nature of generating, like other things. Because the other itself is not the essence of generating it. Even if they are mutually opposed essences, however, they do not lack the essence of the generator. We do not say that the other does not have the essence of generating it, but we say that the essence of one generator is not that of the other. Furthermore, it is generated only by its own essence, not by the essence of the other, because that is not itself. If someone thinks, what contradiction is there in saying that they are separate as they are, and also generate by their own essence? Not having one essence will not become its essence, but that is not not doing, if someone thinks, what reason is there to say that only it must do this result? This answer would be beautiful if it were only said to the Samkhyas. They only approximately express that things are separate and non-separate essences. Therefore, in order to dispel the attachment there, the teacher shows that things are separate by way of names, and all that they approximately express is not said for those who think that truly, dependent arising is neither the same meaning nor different meanings, because according to their view, like illusion, truly, in all things, the essence of separate and non-separate is not established anywhere. Furthermore, if things have two true essences, one is the characteristic of the generator, and the other is the nature of one's own essence, then if this other is different from one's own essence, but not different from the essence of the generator, this answer would become beautiful. At any time, when everything is one's own essence of the generator, if they are mutually opposed, then

How can it be a producer, since it is different from the nature that produces it? However, their nature is such that even though they are different, they can produce something. If it is said that nature is not to be transcended or examined, then those who sit with their legs stretched out, turn their backs on reality and speculate, and only follow terms, will be happy. Those wise ones who are engaged in contemplating reality should not do so. If it is not so, then Ishvara and others are also one, but because they possess the distinction of nature, they are the cause of various beings, and there is no contradiction in sequence or simultaneously, because its nature is established as such. What should be said in response to those who say there that 'nature is not to be transcended or examined'? If someone says, 'That fruit must be produced by it itself, what is the reason for this?' Then, just as the smoke that arises depending on fire, even if it arises from the crown of Indra, it will be said to be without cause, why not say something similar here? The same is true of terms, belonging to one collection, there is no contradiction in producing one fruit, belonging to other collections, there is contradiction, what is the difference? In response to this, it can also be said that the fruit must be produced by fire and so on, and not by the crown of Indra and other things, what is the reason for this? Even if they are different collections, they also produce by their own nature, what contradiction is there in this? If, like a fruit that arises depending on one collection, it also arises from another collection, then, because the nature that it produces cannot be determined, it will be said to be without cause. Similarly, for one collection, at that time, consciousness and so on depend on one cause, if it also arises from another cause that is not in accordance with its nature, why is it not said to fall into causelessness? However, the causes are independent.
