It is impossible to climb a large and extremely tall mansion built with pillars made of wild donkey horns. Therefore, this would become the fault of slandering a completely pure sect. Thus, if you slander both sects, you are obstructing the Four Noble Truths. The production of seeds and sprouts, etc., and the very nature of things that produce them, is known even to the wife of a black man, so a vow made by reputation is also harmed by reputation. Those who wish to make arguments, because they wish to generate certainty in others, have committed to the generation of certainty from that, so it is also contradictory to one's own words. Moreover, it would also be harmful to what the Bhagavan himself showed to be existent through means of valid cognition such as direct perception. For example, one who possesses visual consciousness knows blue, but does not think, "This is blue," and so forth, thus it is clearly shown that things such as blue are cognized by characteristics that are separate from direct valid cognition. The blue and so forth that exists in a sky lotus is not experienced by the mind of the eye. "Whatever is slightly of the nature of arising is all of the nature of ceasing," this shows that the proof to be proven by reasoning is universally applicable, thus it is clearly shown that things are of the nature of momentary existence, which is fully established by inferential valid cognition. Because of showing that, it is also correctly stated that those are indeed possessed of their own nature, because for things that are utterly non-existent, such as sky lotuses, the nature of arising and ceasing is not reasonable. From smoke, one knows fire; from waterfowl, one knows water. Like this, it is clearly shown that things such as fire are correctly produced from the reasoning of the effect, and are of the nature of being necessarily apprehended by certainty. Because seeing signs such as waterfowl, it is not reasonable to infer mirages and other non-existent things. For those who proclaim that all phenomena are unarisen, how can the six causes and four conditions explained in the Abhidharma and so forth be established? Because there is nothing that needs to be produced.

If not, then the causes of those and so on are unreasonable. The sutras say that the aggregates, elements, and sense bases completely encompass all phenomena. If the Blessed One completely revealed all these aggregates and so on as being solely of the nature of cause and effect, then how could that become the unarisenness of all phenomena? If it is asserted that a phenomenon other than the aggregates and so on does not arise, then at that time there is no dispute, because we also do not accept a phenomenon other than that. If you think that because valid cognition and so on are accepted in conventional truth, all these refutations cannot find a flaw, then at that time it would only be the acceptance of entities. Like this, whatever is called valid cognition and so on in conventional truth, undoubtedly must be said to be the characteristic that is contrary to all close assertions and the characteristics of not having a rabbit's horn and so on. If it is not like that, how can one avoid contradicting the world and the scriptures? We say that whatever is contrary to the characteristics of being devoid of all abilities and rabbit horns and so on, that itself is called an entity. If you also give it the name of existing in conventional truth, then you can name it as you please. Merely through naming, one cannot follow the nature of such an entity, because that would be too extreme. Furthermore, it is also necessary to explain what this so-called conventional truth is. If you say that all is non-existent, that is not reasonable, because it is mutually contradictory. Like this, the so-called conventional truth is said to be without ability, and if it is said to be birth and so on, then that is ability, so how can these two mutually contradictory abilities and non-abilities exist in one thing? How can existence itself be established through non-existence? If you say that all non-existence is not like that. Then what is it? If you say that the very nature of the entity is conventional truth, then at that time there is no dispute, because your commitment will be broken. The entity is also called merely birth. Therefore, if you ask how it is said to be born in conventional truth, then birth is the one who is born. The unarisenness that is contrary to conventional truth is also the ultimate truth, so
