If the nature of non-existence is one, how can it later become the nature of existence? Because existence and non-existence are mutually contradictory. If a certain dharma completely abandons something and exists, how can the nature of that dharma be closely related to the possessor of that dharma who possesses that dharma? For example, for space, which belongs to the dharma of non-corporeality, it is like possessing corporeality. The nature of existence, which is correctly proclaimed as birth, is also the nature of completely abandoning the nature of non-existence, so how can it be truly closely related to non-existence? If someone thinks that the so-called non-existence is associated with the act of birth, so it is said to be close to birth, this is completely impossible. However, the nature of things, in the aftermath of certain causes whose abilities are determined separately, appears to be real, but this is not something that has existed before, therefore, for this reason, the world will produce the discrimination of "this non-birth", thinking that it has the characteristics of birth, and widely use the terminology of this expression. Merely the use of terminology does not cause any harm to things. We also do not think that there is such a thing as non-existence that has other properties related to existence. If it becomes existence, then it will not be non-existence, and the nature that arises later is other, and if it is other, how can it be its? Therefore, thinking that "non-birth" and so on, is merely proving the process of things from unbirth to birth, and nothing more, if you think like this, it is unreasonable. Because here is the occasion to analyze the nature of things, not just to express the negation of action. If this thing did not arise before the proximate cause, then what should be said about its nature at that time? If someone thinks that it does not exist at all at that time, then when should its nature be expressed? That is not allowed. If the nature of things does not exist at all, then it will be clearly stated that its nature is only non-existence. If it is not like this, then it will be said "this is non-existence"

Then what would be said? This negation of "not previously existent" is the very nature of the thing that arises later. Moreover, how can one closely examine it apart from the very nature of this previously non-existent nature? How can one correctly say that this false cause and condition of the term of non-existence arising, "this is not what arose before"? Thus, to establish arising for what has not arisen, one can only establish that non-existence is combined with existence, not something else. If one says, "it arises from something else that has not arisen," then it is irrelevant. Therefore, for those who say that things were previously non-existent and later existent, it becomes merely an admission of possessing the true dharma that contradicts this. The nature of possessing contradictory dharmas is also not truly reasonable, because everything will become the nature of everything. If one says that for one thing, gradual existence and non-existence are not contradictory, that is unreasonable, because for simultaneous things, it will also become non-contradictory. However, if these are contradictory at the same time, then why would they not gradually be contradictory at that time? Because there is no difference. For different dharmas, contradictory characteristics are non-contradictory. For one dharma, it is not even gradual, like this, if one simultaneously possesses many contradictory dharmas, then oneness will face the danger of disappearing, similarly, if one gradually possesses them, it will face the same danger. If it is not now, then how can one say that other chief things, etc., gradually become the nature of a great collection, etc., or for clear and distinct observation, how can one say that it possesses contradictory dharmas such as clear and unclear? For Ishvara and others gradually producing things, how can one say that it possesses contradictory dharmas such as capable and incapable? Those who consider mountains, bodies, and vajras, etc., to be of a stable nature, and who distinguish the differences between gradually arising cold and heat, etc., through these different states, for those who want to establish these as momentary, how can they establish cold and heat, etc.?
