It is not, because it would be too extreme. It is also unreasonable to think that what obstructs the arising of consciousness in that place is itself obscuration. Because, can it itself produce the consciousness of the object? Or is its consciousness the nature of what should be known by consciousness? If so, then when the causes and conditions of consciousness are not lacking, nothing can obstruct it. However, if it cannot, or its consciousness is not the nature of what should be known by consciousness, then at that time, because it itself lacks causes and conditions, consciousness will not arise in that place, so it is unreasonable to think that this is the obscuration of the very thing that obstructs the arising of consciousness in that place. Just as the obscuration is completely exhausted, it is also unreasonable to have the nature of not obstructing arising, etc. Therefore, because it cannot, or its consciousness is not the nature of what should be known by consciousness, even if the obscuration of those illuminating conditions is removed, it is unreasonable for consciousness to arise in that place. If it is admitted that it can, then at that time, even if there is obscuration, because it does not lack causes and conditions, consciousness will always arise, so the function of those illuminating conditions becomes meaningless. Therefore, for permanent phenomena, since they do not act in the slightest, nothing can be obscuration, but impermanent phenomena, only because of the difference of causes, sometimes cannot produce consciousness, but produce other moments, therefore it is obscuration. The view that "making the sense faculty good" is also unreasonable, if the action of making the sense faculty good is to become its own nature, then it will become impermanent, as before. If the action of making the sense faculty good is to become other things, then it is not reasonable to make the sense faculty good, because it does not act in the slightest. If it is not so, then it will be too extreme. It has already been explained that it is impossible for anything to act in the slightest on anything. Even if it is allowed that the sense faculty becomes good, if those things that are the nature of what is to be illuminated themselves produce the consciousness of that sense faculty

If it is not capable, or if its consciousness cannot become the nature of being cognized, then at that time it will not produce consciousness, therefore, perfecting it becomes completely meaningless. However, if it is capable, or if its consciousness can become the nature of being cognized, then at that time it should also produce consciousness before perfecting the sense faculty, therefore, perfecting it itself is meaningless. Therefore, the object is also not the characteristic of producing consciousness. For example, if the object to be illuminated is not capable by itself, or if its consciousness is not the nature of being cognized, then even if consciousness is produced, it will not become its object. However, if it is capable, or if its consciousness can become the nature of being cognized, then at that time, just like its own nature, the mere existence of it will produce consciousness, therefore, it is always close, so the illuminators do not produce consciousness. Furthermore, according to your view, all kinds of things are the nature of being constantly existent, therefore, illuminating, illuminator, and illuminated are also always existent, so it should not be distinguished as illuminating and so on, because the illuminators do not do anything at all. The inference that all things are illuminated at all times and so on is also difficult to avoid, because it is always close to having no incomplete cause. Furthermore, if illuminating is merely a complete imputation on permanent things, then the so-called permanent also should not become a thing because it is empty of all abilities, therefore, how could it be an uncertain reason? For example, whatever is empty of all abilities is a non-existent thing, such as the son of a barren woman and so on, and all those who consider Ishvara and so on to be permanent are also the same. Because acting sequentially and simultaneously is contradictory, it has already been explained before that it is empty of all abilities. Therefore, because of the existence of similar kinds, this reason is also not unestablished, nor is it contradictory. The son of a barren woman and so on will also become things.
