Also, perception, formation, and consciousness do not become completely defiled or completely purified. As it is said: Form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, whatever is not completely defiled and not completely purified, this is the Perfection of Wisdom. In the Noble Teaching of the Two Truths, it is also said: Manjushri, with what equality is there equality until the ultimate is completely purified? In the ultimate, are all dharmas also equal to that? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, in the ultimate, all dharmas are equal in that they are utterly without arising; in the ultimate, all dharmas are equal in that they are utterly without birth; in the ultimate, all dharmas are equal in that they are without substance; therefore, in the ultimate, all dharmas are equality itself. In the Noble Ornament of the Light of Wisdom Entering the Realm of All Buddhas, it is also said: In short, all unwholesome thoughts are the cause of complete defilement, and all wholesome thoughts are the cause of complete purification. Among them, all those dharmas that are the cause of complete defilement and all those that are the cause of complete purification are empty of inherent existence: without sentient beings, without life, without persons, without owners, without characteristics like illusions, inwardly peaceful. Whatever is inwardly peaceful is utterly peaceful. Whatever is utterly peaceful is the nature itself. Whatever is the nature itself is not apprehended. Whatever is not apprehended is without location. Whatever is without location is space. Space is the sky. Therefore, knowing all dharmas to be like space, even though names are given to complete defilement and complete purification, the nature of space is not abandoned. Why is that? Manjushri, there is no dharma whatsoever that arises or ceases. If, in the ultimate, there were some dharma that is empty by the characteristic of complete imputation, then in that case, the sutra says, Manjushri, all dharmas are non-dual: without characteristics, not to be made into two, without names, without signs, separated from mind, separated from intellect, separated from consciousness, unborn.

There is no cessation, no cause, no supreme conduct, no universal conduct, no letters, no sounds, thus it is said. Moreover, this so-called Manjushri emptiness is merely a term devoid of clinging to appearances. However, in this Manjushri, in reality, no dharma called emptiness can be found at all. What is said in this way contradicts this. If so, then in the Holy *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra* it is said: Manifest expression is not without entities. What are those entities? The wisdom of the Noble Ones and the vision of the Noble Ones, which are fully enlightened in an inexpressible manner. In order to fully awaken to that inexpressible nature of reality, it is called conditioned, and similarly, it is named unconditioned, and so on. What is said in this way, the teachings of the Bhagavan, the realm of activity of the wisdom of the Noble Ones, each individually cognized by oneself, showing that it exists as the very nature of entities, how can this be? This is not contradictory. Thus, here, the *dharmadhātu*, the realm of activity of the wisdom of the Noble Ones, the characteristic of all *dharmas* being selflessness alone, is considered to be expressed as the term entity. It is taught in this way for the purpose of completely abandoning the place of fear for those who cling to entities. In another way, the wisdom of the Noble Ones and all *dharmas* abide in suchness. Therefore, by expressing the term entity as abiding, it refers only to the *dharmadhātu*. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, teach the *dharmadhātu* itself with various methods depending on the intention to tame. Thus, in the Holy *Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra*, it is said: Great wisdom, however, the *Tathāgatas*, the *Arhats*, the perfectly complete Buddhas, teach that the *Tathāgatagarbha* is suchness, emptiness, the ultimate limit, and *nirvāṇa*, and so on. In order to completely abandon the place of fear for children due to selflessness, they teach by showing the *Tathāgatagarbha* as the realm of non-conceptualization and non-appearance. Great wisdom.
