Moreover, it will become the nature of not knowing anything at all. If it is said that knowing blue is not the nature of the awareness of knowing yellow, that is not acceptable because it is the nature of awareness. When experiencing an object, there is no distinction of saying, "This is knowing blue, and this is not knowing yellow." If, because it is the nature of self-awareness, one strives to call it "self-awareness," and therefore that cause will not be too extreme, that is also not acceptable because it is an incomplete argument. Why? Because there is no immediate cause. That is to say, what immediate cause is there for saying, "This is the nature of self-awareness, and this is not the nature of other-awareness"? By what means can it be shown that one speaks in that way? If it is not so, and there is no immediate cause, then it will be too extreme, just as before. If there is a cause, and that cause is not different from its own aspect, even then, if one asserts that it is self-appearing, then it will become different, and the fault has already been pointed out. It is not acceptable because it has already been answered, which is to say: If the nature of awareness arises from its own cause, then we have already answered that it is not acceptable because it is the nature of awareness, and because it would be too extreme. This is what is to be shown. If the nature of awareness arises from its own cause, and we say that because it is the nature of self-awareness, therefore it will not be too extreme, that is also not acceptable because there is no immediate cause. If it is not so, it will become too extreme, and that has already been answered, and there is no other possibility. Why is there no other possibility? Like this, because for the nature of "This is self-awareness, and this is not other-awareness," the awareness exists, but it cannot be analyzed. If, because it cannot be analyzed in that way, one establishes, "This is self-awareness known by myself, and it is not other-awareness," then what should be said? Self-awareness is well-established, therefore this is 'gyi na'o.' Awareness.

Its nature is like this: The so-called "arising from one's own cause," because there is no valid cognition, therefore it is said, "because there is no non-deceptive valid cognition." Although there is no valid cognition, in order to explain that such knowledge cannot arise, it is said, "the other disagreeing minds," and so on. The so-called "disagreeing minds" refers to those who abide in different tenets. The so-called "stating one's own way" refers to stating one's own established tenet. The so-called "saying there is no aspect," and so on, refers to what is additionally said here. The so-called "refuting in that way" means that this knowledge is only without aspect, and its nature is like this: arising from one's own cause, and by what does it become like this: this is blue knowledge, not yellow knowledge. Therefore, what is the use of reasoning here? The so-called "stating characteristic and explanation" means that you two are the best logicians among them. The so-called "others may also," means that you are the one who follows this reasoning, there is nothing to do, in order to show this, other logicians do not accept this kind of one-sided reasoning, therefore, it is shown that it is unreasonable. Furthermore, its nature is like this, like "arising from one's own cause" is unreasonable. Why? Because it obstructs the power of the cause. The so-called "from below" is the remaining part. Although it is impossible to have self-awareness, it may be allowed that the three natures are also invisible, but these three natures are only existent, because they are merely non-manifest, it cannot be determined that they do not exist, if someone says that, therefore, it is said "cannot be determined," connect it with this. By what? Even if it is allowed that "not seeing is only seeing," it is said. What? It is said "all natures," the remainder is "the existence of other independent natures, etc." Why? It is said "because of that itself," because self-awareness is impossible. The so-called "how" indicates intolerance. Why cannot it be determined? Therefore, like this.
