Again, it was done in the same way. Why is the body of the Bhagavan shown in such a concise way? It is explained, saying, "All aspects," and so on. By saying "Shravakas," and so on, it refers to solitary realizers and Bodhisattvas, as well as ordinary beings. Now, in order to show the absence of pride and wishing to combine with other good paths, it is explained: In this way, as described, is there any fault in distinguishing these two truths? Or is there not? Please consider. Thinking, "There is only no fault!" Thinking, "What should be done?" it is explained: The mind disturbed by bias, should be well abandoned. Because the mind disturbed by bias sees what is correct as incorrect, and similarly, what is incorrect is also seen as correct. Now, because it is oppressed by compassion, in order to completely abandon the hatred of others, it is explained: Even a human being is very difficult to obtain, where is there a need for extreme hatred? It should be combined in this way. "Where" refers to abandoning. Not only is it unnecessary, but because it is actually a cause of harm, it should be abandoned. Like this, because of hatred, falling into the lower realms is difficult to obtain. If the meaning that we desire has already been well determined by me, then why not abandon other views? To this it is explained: The practice of wisdom is also very small. Thinking, "Compared to the wisdom of the Buddhas and those who have entered the Bhumis, what is your wisdom like?" Let's put that aside for now. Even compared to the wisdom of those who abide on the ground of faith, your wisdom is limited. Therefore, because the practice of wisdom is small, saying "I have already well determined your meaning" is very arrogant. If abiding in samsara is noble, then why not abandon it? To this it is explained: The wilderness of samsara is difficult to traverse. This was said. If we think that we will not die, then what is there to fear from hatred? Therefore it is said: Life is also very unstable. If one relies on a good friend, one can completely abandon the faults of hatred.

If one thinks that one should abandon it, therefore it is said: Even a good spiritual friend is difficult to find! Or, if a good spiritual friend points out to me that this other view is unreasonable, therefore, because of hatred, are we not afraid? It is said: Even a good spiritual friend is difficult to find! If one says that because I have no faith in other views, therefore I abandon them, then one should add what is said: Even if there is no faith, why is there extreme hatred? Why is there no faith? Therefore it is said: That is because of the merit of some! As it is said in the sutras: Also, sons of good family, those sentient beings who hear the explanation of the sutras, even if they only generate a single thought of joy, they have already made offerings to countless hundreds of thousands of Buddhas, and have planted roots of virtue from countless hundreds of thousands of Buddhas. Abandoning hatred and gradually becoming accustomed to seeing reality, this faith may change at some point, but if it is not so, the harm caused by hatred, for you, not only faith, but even leisure and fortune will disappear for a long time. Because the two truths have been distinguished, in order to completely dedicate the accumulated merit, therefore the two truths and so on are spoken. The essence of wisdom is the Buddha Bhagavan. The difficult commentary on distinguishing the two truths, written by the teacher Shantarakshita, is completed. Translated, revised, and finalized by the Indian abbot Prajnavarman, Jnana Garbha, and the revising translator Lotsawa Bande Yeshe De, and others.
